Meet Breezy Hoppenrath

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Breezy Hoppenrath. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Breezy below.

Breezy, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

Running a metaphysical beauty shop, teaching music, and raising a baby might seem like a recipe for creative exhaustion, but for me, these roles feed each other in a cycle of inspiration. Creativity isn’t just something I tap into when designing a new product or planning a lesson—it’s woven through every moment of all the different facets of my life.

Creativity flourishes in connection. I make it a priority to support and engage with other metaphysical businesses—shopping at local witchy boutiques, attending workshops, and listening to podcasts that spark new ideas. These interactions aren’t just about staying current with trends; they deepen my understanding of the spiritual and energetic work behind my business. Whether it’s learning about a new herbal blend, exploring energy healing techniques, or hearing a fresh perspective on tarot, these experiences fuel my creativity and give that creativity a purpose.

Having a baby has been one of the most profound creative experiences of my life. There’s nothing quite like watching a tiny human discover the world, reminding me to slow down and see magic in the mundane. My son’s curiosity encourages me to look at my craft with fresh eyes—what does a candle’s glow feel like to someone seeing it for the first time? How does the scent of lavender shift the energy in a room? His wonder keeps me present, which is one of the best ways to stay creatively engaged.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of constant productivity, especially when juggling so many roles. But I’ve learned that creativity needs space. I make time for rest—whether that’s a quiet moment with a cozy drink, a walk in nature, or a night of reading. I also prioritize play, whether it’s experimenting with new product ideas, being outside with my baby, or simply exploring something new without an end goal. Creativity thrives when we let it be joyful.

For other business owners, my advice is this: let your creativity be an extension of your life, not just your work. The magic is already there—you just have to notice it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a co-owner of Dandelion Cottage Menagerie & Goods, a metaphysical beauty and supply shop that blends spirituality with self-care. With a background in music and a deep passion for divination work, I curate products that enhance both inner and outer beauty. As a teacher, musician, and parent, i weave creativity, ritual, and intention into everything I do-helping others find magic in the mundane.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Surprisingly to some, the details of our business was not the hard part. Digital marketing, packaging, and filing all kinds of paperwork was the hardest and least enjoyable part of the process for us. I would definitely recommend help from someone very familiar with these things to get started.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

One of the struggles of not having a storefront yet is getting our products in front of people. We have a couple of businesses interested in selling our products in person and would love to expand that arm of our business. Our instagram is always open @dandelioncottagekc 🩷
