Meet Bren Husher

We recently connected with Bren Husher and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bren, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My mom has always been my biggest supporter and my biggest fan. She still tells me I am the coolest person she knows. I developed confidence at a young age because of her. I am blessed to always have felt very loved.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I don’t just “do” permanent makeup. I have been crafting my technique for over 17 years and specialize in a SHADOW BROW (aka micro shading or powder brow), eyeliner, lip blushing, color correction and permanent makeup removal. My job is making people feel better about the way they look; which also saves them time and effort. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Brow mapping, color theory and removal are essential skills to have in this industry . Cosmetic makeup has evolved and the market is full of permanent makeup artists. This creates some really amazing work! There is also work that is not so great, making it so important to know how to fix, cover up or remove previous artists’ work.

I believe my persistence is something that sets me apart…17 years going strong! I have always had an eagerness to be better–to excel in my skills and be able to offer the best product and service I can offer as a human being. My best advice is to practice your little heart out, baby! Start building a portfolio earlier, it helps earning trust.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am expanding!! I am working on my next project of creating an apprentice program. I would also like to find a larger space and to collaborate with other artists. I wish to provide additional products and services to the community. If you’d like to connect and talk more about that please send me an email at paintedladypigments@gmail.com
