Meet Brenda Karina Yanez

We were lucky to catch up with Brenda Karina Yanez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brenda Karina , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from lived experience and purpose. I learned early on that life rarely unfolds exactly as planned, but it always offers lessons if you are willing to stay present and keep moving forward. As a woman, a mother, and a business owner, I have faced moments where giving up would have been the easier option due to financial uncertainty, self-doubt, exhaustion, and the pressure of carrying responsibility for others. What keeps me resilient is my commitment to growth and the people who depend on me, including myself.

Each challenge has required me to refine my skills, strengthen my discipline, and trust my vision even when results were not immediate. I have learned that resilience is not about never struggling, it is about choosing consistency, accountability, and faith during the struggle.

Most importantly, resilience comes from knowing my “why.” I am driven by the desire to create something meaningful, to set an example of courage and perseverance, and to prove that setbacks do not define outcomes, decisions do. That mindset has allowed me to transform obstacles into stepping stones and continue building with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the founder of KNE Beauty & Spa, a luxury beauty and wellness studio rooted in intention, artistry, and empowerment. What began as a passion for makeup and creative expression has evolved into a multifaceted brand. My work lives at the intersection of self-care and confidence helping women not only look their best, but feel deeply seen, restored, and empowered.

What makes my work especially meaningful is the experience I curate. Every service, whether it’s a facial, brow and lash treatment, massage, or makeup application is designed to be both results-driven and soul-nourishing. I believe beauty is not rushed or transactional; it’s personal. My clients come to KNE for transformation, but they stay because they feel cared for, heard, and valued. Professionally, I am focused on expansion with purpose. I am developing signature service experiences, creative collaborations, and community-driven projects that uplift women in business and the arts. I am also a coauthor in the Mujeres in Business book project, where I share my entrepreneurial journey to inspire others to pursue their dreams with courage and consistency.

Everything I create is guided by the belief that self-care is not indulgent, it’s essential. I want people to know that KNE Beauty & Spa is more than a studio; it’s a space where ambition, artistry, and self-worth are honored.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been the most impactful in my journey: resilience, intentional skill-building, and the ability to connect authentically with people.

Resilience has been foundational. Building something meaningful requires the ability to stay committed through uncertainty, slow seasons, and self-doubt. Early on, I learned that challenges are not signals to stop, they are invitations to grow stronger and more resourceful. For those at the beginning of their journey, my advice is to normalize discomfort. Growth often feels messy before it feels rewarding. Stay consistent, protect your vision, and allow setbacks to refine you rather than define you.

Intentional skill-building has been equally important. Creativity alone is not enough; mastery requires discipline, education, and continuous improvement. I invested time in learning my craft deeply, both the technical side of beauty and the business side of entrepreneurship. My advice is to treat learning as a lifelong commitment. Seek mentors, take courses, ask questions, and practice with purpose. The more skilled you become, the more confidently you can serve others and stand behind your work.

Finally, authentic connection has shaped everything I do. Success is built on trust, and trust is built through honesty, empathy, and presence. Clients and collaborators remember how you make them feel long after the service is done. For those starting out, focus on relationships over transactions. Listen more than you speak, show up with integrity, and let your values guide how you work. A strong reputation is one of the most powerful assets you can build.

Together, these qualities create a solid foundation. When resilience anchors you, skills elevate you, and connection sustains you, growth becomes not only possible. but lasting and meaningful.

Build with intention, serve with heart, and success will follow.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I am always open to collaborations. I believe the most impactful partnerships are rooted in shared values, creativity, and mutual respect. I am particularly interested in collaborating with women entrepreneurs, artists, wellness professionals, photographers, makeup artists, and brands that prioritize quality, authenticity, and meaningful experiences.

I’m drawn to collaborators who are intentional about their work, those who care deeply about craftsmanship, community, and growth. Whether it’s a creative project, an educational initiative, an event, or a brand partnership, I value collaborations that allow us to elevate one another while offering something genuinely valuable to the people we serve.

Those interested in collaborating can connect with me through kne_beautyandspa on Instagram or by reaching out directly via email.

At this stage in my journey, I am focused on partnerships that are not only creative, but also purposeful, projects that inspire, empower, and leave a lasting impact.
