Meet Brenda Lee Martinez

We recently connected with Brenda Lee Martinez and have shared our conversation below.

Brenda Lee , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

It has been a slow progressive process. I married very young, and at the time did not have much confidence or self-esteem. It was an abusive relationship that found me questioning everything about myself in a negative light. About 7 years in I was approached by a soon to be friend to become a Mary Kay consultant, and it was through that organization that found self-help books. From there another multi-marketing business came into my life and they too encouraged self-help books. It was in the reading of those books (The leader within, The greatest salesman alive, how to win friends and influence people…etc.) that began to change my mindset – even though that wasn’t a word yet.

Through different jobs over the years I’ve put these skills into practice, and eventually worked my way into some self-confidence. It was through this process that I eventually got enough gumption to leave an abusive marriage and several years later with a lot more self-work under my belt, I reconnected, and eventually married my childhood sweetheart who supports my hopes and dreams. This has allowed my wings to expand and my confidence to grow even more. After we were married Reiki found me again; that was over 15 years ago! With a steady focus on a life I desire to live, where making a positive difference in other people’s lives is my main goal, I’ve grown myself and my business into something that isn’t “like” anyone else’s.

It’s all in allowing my dreams to take me to the next place, the next level in my personal growth, and I fully know I make a difference through the work that I do. I am now able to stand proudly in a room where no one else is like me. Crazy thing though, is now I hardly even notice that distinction.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about your brand before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Reiki is the foundation of who I am, and the foundation of my business. I do personal sessions and I also teach classes. As I have grown personally I also have grown my business. I’ve added many modalities that complement who I am and how I desire to serve. As a reiki practitioner I have honed my psychic abilities and have taken a certification course through level 3 in the practice of reading the Akashic Records. This ability lets me tap into past lives and blocks and restrictions that hold my clients back. From there I took a deep dive into learning about True Sidereal Astrology. This is looking at natal charts that represent the actual sky placements, including the 13th sign of Ophiuchus. Mixing with my gifts I take clients through their chart in a unique manner that helps them understand their core wounds, karma and help them see through those hard times into their dharma and purpose that is highlighted throughout their natal chart. This reading helps my clients connect with their authentic self. Having read their charts can also help me in future sessions with them to reveal anything they might need to know in a Soul Guidance session or an Emotional Body session, which brings me to the next things I offer. In the process of learning Astrology (which will now be a lifelong thing) I became an Emotion Code practitioner, but soon took that to another level by adding in my psychic and akashic abilities as well as using Reiki – this mixture has become Emotional Body Release and Clearing (Healing through the shadow work of trapped emotions that hide in the body, be it from the past, past lives or handed down from the person’s ancestors). This is now a modality that I am teaching others. As my confidence and knowledge has grown I’ve begun to create modalities of my own, and with that I now offer The Discovery session, that incorporates any or all of the above modalities in a unique soul level deeply profound and tailored session that brings about clearings, personal healing, empowerment and maybe even an introduction to your personal guides. My brand is my love, my connection to the etheric and a thirst to expand my horizons so that I can guide my clients in the direction of their own soul’s desire. My business name is Soul Deep Life, LLC, and it represents the connection we have to our higher-self, God, Spirit, Universe, done through the solid foundations of empowerment, to reach for the stars and to connect to the authentic soul here on earth. I am currently offering Reiki classes, Emotional Body Release and Clearing classes, and will be introducing a new class for women to learn to connect their voice to the power of their bodies. It is a Call to Power. As I grow personally, my brand, my business and my life grow along with me. I can’t tell you about me without telling you about my business as they are one in the same.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think it would be first developing an unwavering faith and trust that life is working for you. Second, it’s important to learn to ask questions, but more important to listen to the answers. (Be it from real life situations, but also from angels and guides. Third would be to hone an ability to see the best, to look for the best, to look for and see the true authentic goodness in everyone. My advice would be to trust your journey, to look at each steppingstone, no matter how hard or traumatic it may be, as the next evolution into the place you are meant to be. When we can look at our hardships and transitions as an experience, neither good nor bad, but an experience that will benefit us in some way, some day and go forward to use the knowledge gained now, life then becomes a journey worth living. Treat yourself like you are valuable and eventually the world will know you are.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

I can’t say it was one book; the evolution of books over the years that has impacted me are many! There are, however, several that stand out. Through my Reiki Master Teacher, I was able to do classes and take a deep dive into every book that Abraham-Ester Hicks ever wrote about the Law Of Attraction/Vibration. Through these books I learned how to use my mind, and my vibration to up level my life through my thoughts, feelings and actions. Through another teacher I was introduced to “The Game of Life and How to Play it” by Florence Scovel Shinn. This is a book that I continuously read! It has nuggets of wisdom that have proven to be invaluable to my life through impactful stories and affirmations that hit my soul. I kid you not, every time I go into that book monetary gain happens in some miraculous way. There are many others, but these are the foundation for the rest.
