Meet Breonn Lyons

We recently connected with Breonn Lyons and have shared our conversation below.

Breonn , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

By taking action and not allowing shame or fear to get in the way of potentially failing. You cannot be something until you literally just do it. I think imposter syndrome comes from shame, or feeling like you haven’t done enough. I overcome imposter syndrome by reminding myself of all of the work I have done in order to be where I am today. Often times I find myself graduating to the next level of my life, or achieving a new level of success in my career, and not really acknowledging what I’ve just completed. Imposter syndrome is something that comes from forgetting all that you’ve done in order to be where you currently are, and by remembering that I’ve earned this- I’ve done the work, the research, the hours, etc., I remember that I deserve to be in the space that I’m in. I’ve also been embracing receiving. Not everything great requires you to struggle before receiving it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Right now I’d say my professional focus is to expand my artistic brand, which is quite literally, me! All of my personal projects are just reflections of different parts of myself and what I’ve experienced thus far in my life. In that, I believe I honor myself and God’s path for me. It’s like paying homage to my own life, because there’s beauty in it. Currently, I am a podcast host and producer in addition to being a young actress in the city! I believe what makes this period of my life so special is that I have the privilege to use the resources I have at my day job as a podcast producer to give myself and other artists a platform to discuss their transition from post grad into their creative careers, and build a community for us. The show is called “What’s The Rate?” a question indie artists know so well. Season 2 is launching in January of 2026! You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or even watch on Youtube!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I’d say the three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey have been resilience, communication, and conjuration. All three are the fuel of my progress. The best tip I can give on how to develop these skills would be collaborating. Decide on something you want to create and create it as best you can. Practice ideation to execution with the resources you have as often as you can. Allow yourself to be faced with problems, failure, and pivots. Continue to ASK for what you need! My gosh, talk to people! There are people out there that want to help you!

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

I would spend it on stage as much as humanly possible. I would build out my shows, I would be in that rehearsal room working that choreography, I would be in that booth singing my heart out, and I would hit the stage. I would bare my soul to the world through performance. I can only hope that the legacy I leave in this three dimensional realm would be that I was a star who ignited other spirits and made people feel alive!
