Meet Brett Forgich

We recently connected with Brett Forgich and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brett , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience started when I began playing sports as a kid through high school. I was the one in the room that wanted to work harder to get better and push myself to continue to learn and grow. While playing sports I had two jobs to help me gain the experience I needed and financially the ability to help pay for college. I have always worked in the hospitality industry and started my leadership path at 22 managing a very busy restaurant in Virginia Beach. From their I faced daily challenges and obstacles to find a solution for on the spot. I fell on my face throughout my journey several times which made me continue to grow and learn from previous decisions to manage the restaurants as if they were my own. I moved to Jacksonville in 2007 and haven’t looked back. I met my wife and 2009 who has been my biggest supporter over the years. Everyday you will face a new obstacle in any industry and life but it’s how you persevere and pick up the others around you to continue to grow.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We opened Lone Wolf Co. on January 16th, 2023 in Jax Beach. I felt it was perfect location to get the brand out to the community . We consider ourselves an unconventional punk rock sando shop. We have several great deli’s around us that I frequent every week but felt there was a niche that wasn’t in Jacksonville yet that would be great for our community. It was pretty easy picking out the idea based on how I grew up with a punk rock life style and you will see that vibe as soon as you walk in our door. We have partnered with as much local as we can, The French Pantry provides our bread daily, Chuck Jackson painted both of our murals, Ryan Barber does all of our shirts, Gotcha Marketing assists with hat and other merch. We are very grateful for the continued support of our community and the local businesses around us. I feel it’s very important to support each other and lift each other up in community as we are on the same ship together.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Being resilient
Being a great listener and mentor
Growing your team to be better then you by giving them the tools and coaching they need to succeed

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

I think it’s safe to say the biggest obstacle right now for everyone is inflation on everything and trying to navigate through it on a daily basis with different vendors to find the best product and the best price to offer to our guests.
