Meet Brett Rosenthal

We were lucky to catch up with Brett Rosenthal recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brett , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I developed my confidence and self-esteem when I was a kid mainly as a result of my parents parenting. My parents never allowed negativity or excuses and pushed me to think I could do whatever I put my mind to. They basically did this for themselves so they were good role models for me. As I got older I started to learn that it doesn’t really matter what others think of me and I started to do what works for me and not care what others thought. As I started to adapt this thinking, I became very confident and my self-esteem was high. I feel like this just continues to build so I think that was the key which helped me develop this. Having success in both work and life also built confidence and self esteem

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Brett Rosenthal and I am a top Realtor in Greater Philadelphia. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and love living here. I live in the community and raised 2 kids in the area and for many years volunteered coaching youth ice hockey in the area. My career began as a lawyer in NYC working for a real estate firm. I wanted something more and needed a career changed and eventually made it into real estate sales which I love.

I currently run the Revolve Philly Group at Compass, where I run a real estate team of 7 agents in Philadelphia. My passion is to help clients buy and sell properties and in teaching new real estate agents and help them make it a a career like it is for me. Over the last two years I have also become a referral agent and have helped clients find homes all over the world. I am part of a top Global Real Estate Referral Networking Group which has taught me a lot.

2 Years ago I launched a podcast called The In Your Home Podcast. The podcast goes around the world and speaks with individuals from all business genres and discusses where they live and aspects of living there. Its a fun podcast with fun guests and has grown each season. Its now a huge part of my real estate business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Positivity. I have always been positive and when negative things happen in my life, I quickly move on and find positive things to focus on. I would encourage everyone to look past negativity immediately and find something positive to keep you going

2. Good listener. One of the compliments I get from people is that I am a good listener. It is often difficult to just listen to people, but I have found it very important. In Real Estate it helps me because I listen to my clients story and then adapt to what they want or need and find a solution. I think in life in general people would be more successful if they listen to others.

3. Work ethic. I grew up in a family where my parents had to work hard and they did. They passed this on to me from day 1 and it has simply helped me outwork most people. You have to come to work daily and the harder you work fast will make you succeed in the future. My advice to others would be is work hard and never stop working until you no longer have to work as hard.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing that my parents did for me was teaching me how to treat people in life. I think this is the biggest problem people have in life and business and I think that it needs to be taught at a young age. My parents were strict with it and while I hated it at a young age, it has been very important today.
