We recently connected with Brey Noelle and have shared our conversation below.
Brey, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
I truly see that my optimism comes from a slew of things. I am not optimistic for “optimism’s sake”, I have discovered that authentic optimism is rooted in the truth, and our genuine beliefs. Overcoming is a mindset rooted in optimism; and at a young age I chose to believe that I AM an OVERCOMER, and that’s my only option. I have walked through depression, confusion, failure, extreme pain and disappointment and have LEARNED that when I focus my MIND on that which is true and lovely and beautiful and practice declaring gratitude and thanksgiving to God above on a daily basis, my perspective ALWAYS changes to see the beauty in everything, thus my mind goes to work to create all that is positive and beautiful. I’ve learned that our minds shape our experiences and our realties, and there are multiple ways to look at any situation at hand. When I focus my mind on the truth that there is ALWAYS a solution, and God ALWAYS has my best interest at hand, and He will NEVER let me down even if others do (or even if I DO), then I know without a doubt that even when circumstances may seem to look grim, there is ALWAYS a higher way of thinking that transfigures into beauty and growth. My life ha proven over and over that this is true and that God’s Word is true and that is why I can keep going! I let the fruit speak for itself… and I continually have opportunities to put these beliefs into practice and ALWAYS see the fruit on the other side. This is where my optimism comes from.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I always had a natural flair for performance and quickly began honing my craft both on and off stage. Singing was my main outlet all through my growing up years – performing with multiple bands, touring groups and writing and performing my own music as well.
After graduating from Seattle Pacific University on a music scholarship with a Communications degree, I dove headfirst into the entertainment industry in LA. Beginning in the music industry, I eventually started modeling, then fell into the acting world and immediately started landing roles in commercials and films within weeks of getting an agent.
I eventually started a youtube channel as a means to share my story and inspire and encourage others. I have always been passionate about building others up and seeing those around me succeed. Since I found myself having to overcome constantly, I wanted to make sure others knew that they could overcome as well. The truth is – YOU can pursue YOUR dreams while building a life YOU love as well!
With a range that spans from performing my original soul/pop music on stage, to being an actress in laugh-out-loud comedic TV/Film, to modeling around the world, online and on my socials, I truly just hope to captivate my audience with depth of emotion and authenticity both on and off the screen. I hope to present a life of sincerity and inspiration to others.
Recently, the film world has become my main avenue of work and expansion. I have landed multiple independent films, as well as 6 plus Lifetime Films, including multiple LEAD roles in the last couple years. This recent year, I started expanding into writing and producing TV and film in addition to my acting roles. I always seek to continue growing in all areas of creative entrepreneurship and know I am just scratching the surface.
Off-screen, I’d say I’m known for my modeling accomplishments and most of all, my inspirational lifestyle presence on and offline. I love my devoted online followers who are drawn to the encouraging and inspirational presence that I try to carry on and off my social platforms. I am also an avid traveler, finding inspiration in exploring diverse cultures and landscapes around the globe and hope to inspire others to do the same.
Whether I am sharing my recent ventures from my living room, or on set directing and acting in my own film, I hope to always leave a positive imprint on people, not only captivating audiences, but inspiring them with every part of my journey, performances and accomplishments.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say the 3 areas that were most impactful on my journey are as follows:
1) Developing Discipline: at a young age. I implemented daily discipline in physical, spiritual, mental AND emotional wellness. This developed the tenacity in me to carry this into my visions, dreams and pursuits. Without discipline, I don’t think I would be anything that I have become. Discipline requires commitment, courage, and overcoming daily.
2) My Relationship with God and foundational principles of Truth in the Bible. This has kept my mind and heart focused on the right and life-giving things that have been the foundation to my character development, choices, and positive outlook on all of life – in it’s devastations as well as victories.
3) My family and strong life-giving network of people around me. We cannot do it RIGHT alone. And that’s the truth. I have needed love, grace, support, encouragement, advice, and mentorship to be WHO and WHAT I am today.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My Father has been the biggest influence in helping me overcome challenges and build my skills and vision into a successful life. My father has always encouraged me to be my best self, to remain in balance and to have fun. He has been my biggest cheerleader and advisor in how to live uprightly, in character, with faith, belief and strength. These are the greatest qualities to build ANYONE into a person of success. Excellence in ANY area of life will automatically flow as a result of having good character, love and discipline, and those are the very things my Father instilled and continues to encourage in me today.
