Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Breyton Croom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Breyton with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my dad. He always pushed me to work hard, even when things got tough, and he reminded me not to wait until the last minute to finish assignments. One of the biggest lessons he emphasized was the importance of sleep. No matter how much stress or work there was, he always made sure I got a good night’s rest.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m an artist, songwriter, actor and performer who uses music to share my story and connect with others. As someone on the autism spectrum, creativity has always been my way of expressing myself and helping people see life from a different perspective. My journey has taught me resilience, self-acceptance, and the importance of turning challenges into art—and I bring all of that into my music.
What excites me most about my work is its ability to inspire and uplift. I don’t just create songs; I create experiences that are raw, genuine, and relatable. Whether it’s a soulful R&B ballad, a fun and lighthearted track, or a deep jazz-inspired tune, my music always comes back to the themes of growth, hope, and connection.
Recently, I released a new song called “Working on Myself.” It’s an honest reflection of my own journey through struggles with depression, rejection, and self-doubt, but also a celebration of the progress I’ve made. This release is special to me because it captures where I am right now—committed to becoming a better version of myself and encouraging others to do the same.
Looking ahead, I’m continuing to explore new sounds and projects, including songs that highlight different aspects of life on the spectrum and how we can embrace our uniqueness. At the end of the day, my mission is to build a community through music—one where people feel seen, encouraged, and inspired to keep growing.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, authenticity, and discipline.
Resilience has been essential because life and music both come with setbacks, rejections, and challenges. Learning to keep going, even when things get tough, has allowed me to grow stronger and stay focused on my goals.
Authenticity is just as important. As someone on the autism spectrum, I’ve learned that the best way to connect with people is by being real—sharing my truth and expressing myself honestly through music. That’s what makes the work meaningful and relatable.
Discipline is the foundation that ties it all together. Whether it’s writing songs, preparing for performances, or pushing myself to improve, consistency and structure are what turn ideas into reality.
For anyone starting their journey, my advice would be: don’t be afraid of failure—it’s part of the process; stay true to who you are—your uniqueness is your strength; and build daily habits that keep you moving forward. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but every small step adds up.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I usually step away from the situation to give myself space and reset. If that’s not possible, I take a few deep breaths to release some of the tension and ground myself. As someone on the autism spectrum, I can become overwhelmed more quickly than the average person, and when overstimulation kicks in, it can feel like everything is magnified. Learning how to manage that has been an important part of my journey.
