We recently connected with Bri Alexander and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bri , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding my purpose came through my healing journey. I was going through a huge transition in life, unmarrying and exploring life through a new lens. Along the way, I found unique experiences that helped to heal me from the inside out.
Exploring different modalities, learning, and unlearning showed me firsthand how powerful holistic healing is for the mind and body. It’s the reason I navigated life the way that I do.
After years of meditating to music through apps like Insight Timer, I finally attended my first in-person session, and to say it was life-changing is an understatement.
Once I began to understand how transformative sound healing could be, I knew that I had to share this gift with others.
I’m so grateful that I do because this is the most aligned I have felt in my life!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a sound healing practitioner and holistic wellness coach operating in Baltimore and the DMV. My business, Bri Alexander Wellness, incorporates lots of different holistic modalities including sound healing, Reiki, mindfulness, breathwork, somatic movement, and dance magic – all to create an immersive experience.
I offer customizable sessions ranging from corporate wellness, special events, wellness parties, and 1 to 1 energy healing.
What I love the most about my work is that no matter the setting, there is always a distinct before and after. Seeing how people enter the session compared to how they leave is such a magical feeling, one that’s pretty difficult to put into words. The relaxation, release, rejuvenation, and overall wonder is really rewarding.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Getting clear on your “Why” before anything else. What does this mean to you? Why are you doing it? Then, you have to have unwavering faith in your pursuit. Discovering your Ikigai is a fun place to start.
2. Investing in the business early on is a huge recommendation. Hiring a business consultant or coach of some sort who understands your vision will help shape your ideas without exhausting more time or resources than you need. It’s a great shortcut.
3. Being accountable and working even when you may not feel like it. It’s a great practice.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
YES to collaborations!! I love partnering with corporate groups, universities, small businesses, and nonprofits to bring sustainable holistic wellness to the mainstream.
As a Black woman-owned small business, I am always open to partnerships and collaborations in the community. Representation is so important & opportunities to partner and spread the word is what I’m all about. Let’s chat via email!
