Bria Bland, Bernadette Jackson, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Sisterhood is a principle that Bernadette has exemplified in her life and instilling into Bria’s life. So, Sisterhood Brunchin was founded with the purposeful vision of women uplifting and supporting one another. At its core, it is a space where women from all walks of life come together to foster genuine connections, share experiences, and build a strong community rooted in sisterhood. Through brunch gatherings we have created an environment where women are encouraged to empower one another, ensuring that every woman feels seen heard and supported. It’s also even a great opportunity for women of business to network and share their business with others. The essence of Sisterhood Brunchin is to cultivate a circle of women who uplift one another, not just during the events, but in every aspect of life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Bria and Bernadette share a unique bond as a mother-and-daughter best-friend duo. Bernadette’s
strong belief in the power of sisterhood and supporting other women has been a guiding force in
Bria’s life. When Bria moved to a new city, she felt the absence of that connection and realized
how challenging it could be to find and build genuine relationships with women. This sparked
her desire to create a change not only for herself but for other women facing similar struggles.
In 2021, we founded Sisterhood Brunchin, a social group centered on the
concept of brunch and sisterhood, these brunches are held quarterly in different cities. Our goal is to provide a welcoming space for women of all backgrounds, cultures, and personalities to come together, laugh, network, and uplift one
another. Each brunch is thoughtfully planned to be fun and unique, filled with activities that
allow the women to relax and connect in a way that feels natural and free from awkwardness.
What makes Sisterhood Brunchin special is the intention behind each gathering. Events start with
a powerful affirmation to center and encourage the attendees, and they end with a prayer to bless
the lives of every woman in the room. This reinforces the sense of unity and purpose,
empowering the women to carry that spirit of sisterhood into their daily lives.
As Sisterhood Brunchin continues to expand and visit new cities, we look
forward to meeting more incredible women, spreading our spark of sisterhood, and inviting
every sister to join us at the table. We can’t wait to brunch with you!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Passion, creativity and optimism are the driving forces behind everything we do when planning Sisterhood Brunchin events. These qualities enable us to create meaningful, impactful experiences for the women who attend. Our advice to anyone starting their journey is to remain open-minded and resourceful. We believe these traits will help navigate challenges and unlock new possibilities, leading to greater success and growth along the way.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Great Question! We are open to collaboration and partnerships to help Sisterhood Brunchin thrive! Partnering with restaurants could indeed create a mutually beneficial relationship, bringing in new guests for them while expanding their community. By funding everything ourselves, this demonstrate our genuine passion for empowering women, which makes any potential sponsorship or partnership even more meaningful.
Collaborating with hotels and receiving merchandise donations would be a great way to ease the financial load, especially since Bria creates all the merchandise herself. These partnerships could allow us to focus even more on the meaningful connections we foster during the brunches. And the idea of our own Sisterhood Brunchin Champagne sounds like an exciting future goal! It perfectly encapsulates our spirit of celebration and sisterhood.
