We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bria Jaime. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bria below.
Bria, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is an energy that we all just are. And I’ve learned to tap into it more and more in many different ways. It has become a daily practice for me first and foremost to become aware and recognize all that I am creating. Being an artist, people might say it just comes so easy or naturally but we forget we all have this innate ability to create. The definition of create is literally to bring something into existence. And that happens every single day for all of us. I keep my creativity alive by staying inspired by others who are creating and sharing as well and staying involved in creative collaboration. Reading books, media material and new online content, staying in the know, watching new shows and movies, listening to new music, but most importantly in my day to day work. So much of it is the actual doing. The styling the hair, writing the song, posting a photo, baking a bread, or editing a video. There is always a new project going on and just being able to take action on that idea to start takes inspiration. I like to stay in tune also to the world’s evolution. Keeping up with the times in entertainment and beauty industry but also understanding the roots. and learning about other cultures, countries, and spiritual practices.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I like to consider myself a creative soulpreneur. I am an entrepreneur and do a lot of creative things and have been finding more and more ways how to do it all and live a fulfilled soul led life. Currently, as a new mom, I am finding ways to balance generating an income from home the majority of the time and also going out and doing what I love in other locations as well. I am kicking off an online teaching business through Bria Jaime Studio where I will be offering beauty, entertainment, and spirituality services, events, and online lessons and classes. I am offering akashic records and tarot/oracle readings, 1:1 mentoring, in home beauty services and teaching, as well as teaching music lessons and opening up my availability for studio sessions for songwriting, singing, vocal production or piano. Coming this Spring I will be hosting some mommy and me moon circles and also music and dance classes in person and online. I am performing and writing more music and so excited for my son Sol to be a part of this creative artistic life! I am evolving every day and now becoming a mom, I feel more inspired than ever to create all my dreams to reality, I’ve been blogging a lot more now, so writing is a huge part of this new stage of life. I love creating content, so now is really the time I’m doing a lot of it.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 qualities that were most impactful in my journey would be my work ethic, my enthusiasm and positivity on life, and commitment to always following my heart. My best advice for folks early in their journey and things that have helped me get to wear I am today, are to seek mentors, read books, and consume yourself with all things that spark your inspiration. Speak words of affirmation daily, and really invest in your transformation. There is a level of commitment energy that really helps us follow through our intention when we invest in our growth. Hire the teacher, buy the course, pay for the help. Create a dream board, write lists and check them off, and live on intention. Show up and always look your best. Ground yourself daily and live an examined life, drink tons of water and always put your Self first. And energetically align yourself to being open and available to all life has to offer.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
This year I became a wife and a mother. My biggest area of growth I would say has been trusting myself, trusting my intuition, my body, and following my true soul instincts. After giving birth naturally at a birth center after 42 hours of labor, I learned to trust myself so much to the point there’s no stopping myself and there’s no turning back. So many limiting beliefs and blocks came up during the birth my only option was to move through them, love them, heal them, acknowledge them, feel them, and choose to let them go and move into full Power as I birthed my son. I’ve evolved so much over the years out of limiting beliefs and blocks I’ve created myself in my life. Now when I know I want to do something, I trust myself fully that it absolutely can happen. We are powerful manifestor’s. I truly believe that now. Like Paulo Coehlo says in the Alchemist, “When you really want something, all of the universe conspires to achieve it.” And that is the power and trust in your ability to create. A force that moves you and makes things happen.
