We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bria Waldron a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bria, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’ve also been a hard worker, my parents raised me to be. I was taught to never cut corners, that if I’m going to do something to always do it thoroughly. My parents, more so my dad was strict when it came to my education. I couldn’t sleep in on weekends and I always had extra school work to do even when I was out of school to keep my mind going.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the founder of Green Career Services & Business Consulting, where I provide a range of services including career coaching, financial planning, executive assistant training, and business registration assistance. Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be for individuals—especially those who are overlooked or face difficult circumstances—to break through. That’s why my mission is to empower others. Whether it’s through career coaching, financial literacy workshops, or simply offering support, I’m committed to helping people overcome barriers and seize opportunities to succeed.
I truly believe in the power of collaboration. When people come together, they can create a bigger impact and drive lasting change. This belief has been a guiding force in my work, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and businesses unite to reach their goals and build a stronger, more prosperous future.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that have had a major impact on my journey are consistency, self-awareness, and embracing discomfort. Staying consistent has been key, even when the results weren’t immediately visible. It’s that persistence over time that leads to growth. Not comparing myself to others has also been important—while it’s easy to fall into that trap, I’ve learned that everyone’s journey is unique, and comparing can hold you back. Lastly, doing things that make me uncomfortable has been crucial to my development. It’s those uncomfortable moments that push me out of my comfort zone and help me grow in ways I never expected.
For those just starting out, my advice would be to focus on building a strong foundation of consistency. Don’t rush the process—progress comes with time. Also, be mindful not to compare your journey to others; everyone moves at their own pace. And finally, embrace discomfort. The hardest moments often lead to the greatest growth, even if it feels tough at the time.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m definitely open to partnering and collaborating with others. I’m looking to connect with business owners who provide career training, as well as small businesses that may need executive assistant training. I’m also interested in partnering with high schools and universities to offer informative workshops, particularly around career development and financial literacy. Additionally, collaborating with financial advisors to help individuals and businesses improve their financial planning is something I’m very keen on. I believe in the power of working together to create more opportunities and impact, so I’m always looking for like-minded partners to help expand these efforts.
