We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brian Buturla a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through other strong men being kind to me at a young age, my parents guidance and God himself talking to me.
Sounds like a good story right? So at 53 years old now – I look back and say that everything was always there for me and that is why I am here for others.
My father bought me my first weight bench, barbells and dumbbells during my middle school years. Real men were my gym brothers growing up who helped me get into shape, lose weight and change my entire being. They were strong, approachable and kind.
Smart, dynamic and larger than life men, including my father and teachers through Catholic grammar and high school were there for me, to make sure that I was on track during my life and becoming educated as well as becoming the person who I wanted to be, who I am now.
It was my mother who helped me fully commit to my purpose, to sow the seeds that God placed in my heart. After investing in 5 Years of college she still had no problem setting my heart free and giving me permission to do whatever it was in life that made me happy.
Corporate America stressed me out, affected my mental health and was destroying the artist inside of me. So I left it and set up my new office in a local Gym and on a local beach’s sand bar. The two places that made me happiest in life.
My purpose in life was found by getting close to God in nature for a good amount of time. Away from everything and everybody else, I began to understand the unique gifts that He had given to me and what my life’s work was really supposed to be.
As a Private Studio Personal Training owner and Yoga Teacher, who specializes in healing and happiness I help individuals discover their own true strength and purpose in life.
