Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
What an amazing question…believe it or not, my resilience comes from my mother! Hearing her story of overcoming an attempted murder/suicide attack from a family member when she was only a teenager, to her becoming a married adult and losing a child when he was 10, losing 2 sisters and a husband within weeks of each other, and the list goes on. My consistent question to myself is, how is she able to continue on? Her resilience to continue running multiple businesses, pastoring a church, while still keeping her sanity amidst it all, inspires me to continue moving beyond any temporary setback!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hello, everyone! I’m Brian “Kash” Johnson, the Lifestyle Maven. I am quite a few things…so before I get into that, let me share something that helped me embrace, ME! It is a quote from a motivational speaker I follow on social media. I’m paraphrasing, but basically he stated that society has caused us to believe we have to be one thing OR the other. However, God designed us to be everything He’s created us to be; this AND that! With that being stated, I am a Wardrobe Stylist, Creative Director, AND Worship Pastor. It took some time for me to embrace all of my gifts, but once I did, there was no turning back. I’ve styled some of your favorite people, be it reality stars, CEO’s, rappers, etc. I’ve Creative Directed music videos, photo shoots, product/business launches, etc. I’ve sang BGV for some amazing artists, but nothing brings me more joy than doing all of those things for free to assist people whenever I can. Shocking, I know. However, the greatest success in life isn’t the amount of money in your account, but the impact you make on people that encounter you daily. For me, serving my local leaders and church is just as important as being flown to a different country to style someone on tour (yes, that really happened. Lol) So, you know what I am – Stylist, Creative Director, and Worship Pastor, but what I do is much deeper.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three skills I’ve found are crucial to growth in my area of expertise are self-awareness, self-accountability and self-acceptance. When you know your strengths/weaknesses, work to improve who you are for YOU, and accept that you are uniquely divinely made, your journey accelerates itself. Never look at or to anyone else, we are all on our own journeys. The quicker you embrace yours, the quicker your life changes.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone that trusts my vision. I have a proven track record, and I’ve been doing this for many years…trust the process and you’ll love the results!
