Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Noguera . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Brian , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
Generosity is a trait that I have come to learn more as Ive gotten older. I think we as individuals think about ourselves first before anyone else – not at fault of your own but how we grow up. My wife, has helped me a lot with finding a better purpose by giving. Give and you shall receive – is in the Bible. It can’t be more real that generosity and learning to give – without expecting anything in return – is an essential part of growing as individuals and purpose. We seldom think that giving will equate to us reaching more blessings – but man does that have so much truth to it – and the gift of giving and the return of receiving comes at you unexpectdley but it hits harder and feels a lot more special knowing you acted in a way to give and be generous.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Im an entrepreneur, building and expanding MAIZE TACOS to the community. We started MAIZE TACOS as a food truck back in 2017, two years later in 2019, we opened our first restaurant and fast forward to 2023 we have a second location and working on our 3rd and 4th….We have caught the attention of many investors and interested parties to continue expanding – with franchises and investment opportunities. The most exciting feeling is waking up every morning knowing we have work to do – creating jobs – that help others provide for their families, and being able to share our food and culture with the community. The proudest feeling though is being able to share this with our family and kids and hopefully creating a lasting legacy that they can continue to carry on when they get older and in the future with their kids.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would have to say perseverance, the ability to want to learn each and everyday, and learning from a mentor. Being an entrepreneur is like being on a rollercoaster ride, many ups and downs, many times you want to get off the ride, but then a shot of adrenaline and now you want to keep going. Can’t have any quit, when you step back and think about 2 years back or 5 years back, you prayed to be where you are now- that should fill you with accomplishment- but the work continues. Don’t let negative people bring you down and don’t let internal thoughts convince you that you cannot accomplish your ideas. The best thing I did was to find a mentor who had done it before me, was successful and tried to learn and ask questions. We can avoid many mistakes by learning from those before us.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
When we align with an individual or a group of people that are like minded with the same goal we can accomplish sir much more in a shorter time…at the moment I have several mentors who guide me and help me make the best decisions towards growth. In specific, I have another entrepreneur, franchise owner/operator who had built a successful restaurant(s) and has been an incredible operator and by aligning with him and bringing him in as a partner will help build my brand and help execute things a bit tighter and help expand the brand to several more stores.
