We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Briana Dumont a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Briana, we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hopes that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? I have been diagnosed with several disorders including C-PTSD, ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety, amongst others. These conditions bring a wide range of symptoms that make daily life quite challenging, often hindering my personal growth and the success of my business endeavors. In order to work through these difficulties, I sought out assistance from mental health professionals, fellow spiritual workers, and my incredibly supportive husband and friends. Their encouragement, guidance, and resources have made it significantly easier for me to balance my business and my mental well-being, allowing both aspects of my life to coexist more harmoniously.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Briana Dumont, and I consider myself to be a student of life. I am very open-minded and always eager to learn, grow, and have new experiences. I was never certain what specific career path I would persue, as there were so many directions to choose from and opportunities I hadn’t yet been exposed to or knew were possible. However, there was one clear desire that guided me: the wish to create a positive impact in people’s lives. I embarked on a journey to discover a career that would bring me genuine fulfillment, allowing me to express my true self and resonate with my values and aspirations. Along the way, I explored various paths, and I am truly thankful for those experiences, as they have gifted me with wonderful memories and valuable lessons. Each step I took has contributed to my journey and brought me to where I am today. Currently, I am a licensed Realtor in Massachusetts and am working towards obtaining my Rhode Island license. My aim is to provide my clients with a knowledgeable and trustworthy agent who prioritizes their best interests, ensuring they have a smooth real estate experience that leads to them achieving their real estate goals. However, my main focus is on my small business, Briwitched Blessings. From an early age, I recognized that I was different; I had a unique ability to connect with people by expressing knowledge pertaining to their lives or their departed loved ones that I couldn’t possibly have known. As I continued my spiritual practices as a witch while simultaneously elevating my psychic and mediumship skills, I realized the potential to combine these elements into a business that would allow me to be my authentic self and achieve my ultimate goal of finding a fullfilling career that aligned with my desire to help others. Managing this business has continually reinforced my belief that this is my true calling. The joy, comfort, guidance, and resources I’ve been able to provide have filled me with a sense of purpose and confirmed that I am on the right path. I offer a variety of services including tarot readings, dream interpretations, meditation sessions, home cleansings and blessings, private gatherings, officiant services, and a curated selection of mystical products like spellcraft supplies, mystery boxes, candles, charms, wreaths, jewelry, art, and more. I am currently pursuing accreditation as a meditation instructor to enhance the experience for individuals who join my sessions. Additionally, I am dedicated to refining my mediumship abilities, which I intend to incorporate into my offerings in the future. For those interested in growing their knowledge of witchcraft, divination, and more, I will also be starting a YouTube channel and am exploring streaming opportunities. My hope is to open a physical space that acts as a mystical sanctuary that will allow my services, products, and events to be more accessible to everyone. Through Briwitched Blessings, my mission is to share the spiritual and metaphysical aspects of myself to assist others on their personal journeys.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Embracing a mindset of continuous learning is one of the most valuable things a person can do throughout their life. It’s important to remember that seeking help or support is a sign of strength, whether it comes from a professional, a colleague, or someone you trust in your personal life. Additionally, if you find something that brings you happiness, hold onto it. Regardless of your skill level or achievements, if it fills you with joy and fulfillment, keep pursuing it. True success isn’t solely defined by tangible outcomes, like money; it’s about the enrichment it brings to your life. Joy is a powerful enhancer, and the more you engage with what you love, the more you’ll grow and improve, opening up a world of endless possibilities.
