Briana, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

My purpose didn’t arrive all at once it was shaped by my faith, my family, and some of the deepest pain I’ve ever known. I was raised in the Church of God in Christ, and from an early age, alongside my father, my mother and grandmother made sure that I was rooted in holiness and biblical principles. Their strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith laid the foundation for the woman I’ve become. Watching them live with integrity and lead our family in love taught me how to stay grounded, even when life felt uncertain.

That foundation is what carried me through one of the darkest seasons of my life with losing my son, Elias in 2019. Grief like that changes you. It left me broken in ways I couldn’t explain. But even in the silence, I still heard God. I prayed through the tears and told God that if I was going to live & outlive this grief, that he would have to help me move forward And little by little, He began to remind me of who I was and what was still inside me.

In 2020, I felt a shift. God brought back to life the passion I had for fashion, for beauty, and for helping others feel seen and confident. Amongst other passions and giftings, that passion became purpose. My pain became fuel. And today, everything I do from running my boutique to pouring into others is rooted in that journey of faith, resilience, and love. I found my purpose not just in what I do, but in who I’ve become through it all, and for this is one of my many callings. I’ve been called to impact and be a world changer!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My love for fashion and presentation started early. At the age of 7, I began modeling with Erole’ Expose Showcase Models under the leadership of the late Stanley E. Smith. That experience shaped how I viewed style, not just as something to wear, but as a form of expression, confidence, and identity. It planted a seed that would later bloom into a calling.

Today, I am the founder and CEO of Kendra’s Kloset and Kollections, a fashion boutique rooted in faith, boldness, and authenticity. My brand is deeply personal , born from a place of pain, healing, and purpose. After the loss of my son, Elias, I found myself searching for direction, and God reminded me of the passion I had buried. Fashion became my outlet, and eventually, my purpose. I knew I was called not just to create beautiful looks, but to uplift women, to help them feel powerful from the inside out.

One of the greatest blessings in this journey has been the opportunity to style women both locally and globally. From everyday women walking in their purpose to high-profile clients, I’ve had the honor of helping women feel confident and seen through fashion. I’ve also been fortunate to provide clothing for celebrities and public figures, and each connection has reaffirmed the impact of what I do.

What makes Kendra’s Kloset and Kollections so special is that it’s more than a boutique, it’s a reflection of resilience, faith, and creativity. Every piece is chosen with intention. Every look tells a story. I’m currently expanding the brand with upcoming pop-up events, limited edition collections, and a deeper focus on incorporating faith-based fashion into everything we offer.

Whether you’re walking through healing, stepping into a new season, or just looking for something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself, I want you to know that my brand is here for that. It’s style with purpose, fashion rooted in faith, and a testimony stitched into every look.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that impacted my journey the most were faith, resilience, and vision.

1. Faith
My foundation in faith has carried me through every season, especially the hard ones. It was my relationship with God that helped me survive grief, rediscover my purpose, and stay grounded when things felt uncertain. For anyone starting their journey, I encourage you to stay connected spiritually. Pray, seek guidance, and trust that even the detours are part of the plan. When you’re rooted in faith, you won’t be shaken by the storms.

2. Resilience
Life will test you , in ways you don’t expect. Losing my son Elias shook my world, but it also showed me how strong I really was. Resilience isn’t about pretending everything is okay; it’s about choosing to keep going even when it’s not. Build resilience by giving yourself grace, surrounding yourself with support, and learning how to bounce back. Growth lives on the other side of pain.

3. Vision
From the time I was a little girl modeling at age 7, I had dreams. But turning a dream into a brand takes vision , the ability to see what doesn’t yet exist and take steps toward it every day. Whether you’re launching a business, pursuing your art, or trying to find your place, protect your vision. Write it down. Speak life over it. And be willing to work for it, even when others don’t see it yet.

My advice? Start with what’s in your hands. Don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Stay faithful, stay focused, and stay true to who you are. Your journey won’t look like anyone else’s, and that’s exactly what makes it powerful.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning to fully trust myself and the God in me. For a long time, I wrestled with doubt second-guessing decisions, overthinking my next steps, and wondering if I was truly ready for the opportunities being placed in front of me. But this past year has taught me that everything I need is already inside of me I just had to believe it.

I’ve become more confident in my voice as a businesswoman, more bold in my creativity, and more intentional about setting boundaries that protect both my peace and my purpose. Spiritually, I’ve also grown closer to God, learning to hear Him more clearly and to move when He says move even if I don’t have all the details.

This growth has overflowed into every part of my life, my business, my relationships, my motherhood, and my personal healing. I’m learning that elevation requires internal alignment, and this year has been all about doing that inner work.
