Meet Briana Norman

We recently connected with Briana Norman and have shared our conversation below.

Briana, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
For me, I struggled with self esteem during high school because I was getting bullied a lot. To make myself feel better I start to do makeup on other people. I thought that if I made other people feel better, it would in turn make me feel better. Well, it turns out I was right! When I did other people’s makeup, I started to see their beauty which made me recognize mine. From there, I continued to do other people’s makeup and mine. Which helped me build up my confidence.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a travel makeup artist. I use my services for birthdays ,weddings, proms, and even everyday events. I enjoy what I do because I get to be apart of the grand parts of people’s lives. I just love seeing the outcome of my service and how my happy my service makes my clients. I am, also, a cosmetic brand owner. I sell lashes, lipgloss, tickets to my women empowerment events and so much more. I strive to have a full cosmetic brand in 2027.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe the three qualities I needed to impact my journey are perseverance, community, and communication. Perseverance comes into play because not everyone can see your dream. They may talk about you or discount your business, but you have to press on and continue. Community or having a community is important because the people who support your business are important. There would be no you if you didn’t have them. Finally, the importance of having great communication will help your clientele understand your boundaries as a service provider.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The number one obstacle that I am currently facing is exposure. I am trying to get my business out there and reach the people who do love makeup. I am constantly posting reels on Instagram and Facebook which has had help me obtain customers in the past.
