Meet Briana Pass

We were lucky to catch up with Briana Pass recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.
Writers block is a serious thing in the author world. If you know you know! The longest I’ve had a writers block was about 6 months. At first I didn’t know how to get out of it. Then I discovered that reading other books from my favorite authors helped. It gets my mind flowing with creativity. If you’re a writer try this technique. I don’t know about you but when I read other people’s work it makes me want to step my game up!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Author and I’m sensitive about my work! I enjoy creating a movie in your head by providing great stories for my audience to read. I’ve published 7 books and I am now working on my 8th one. I have two children books and the rest are for adult readers. My website will disclose everything that I’ve done previously and what I have in progress!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Growing as an author, what I have encountered, and what paved the way for me is knowing how to net work, striving to learn, being flexible with having an open mind when other people give me ideas. All of those tools helps me become more successful in branding myself. I am an independent writer And I tend to be that way until I know that I’m at a certain level in my career. The advice that I can give other writers or anybody who is creative and passionate about whatever they desire to do is stay open minded, stay true to yourself be authentic and don’t be afraid to try new things, knowing how to net work is very important in being an entrepreneur.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Definitely BRANDING myself! Trying to get my work out there and getting people to engage in it. I am confident but I would love to have a bigger fan base. The best way how I’ve came to overcome this challenge is investing. I’ve been participating in marketing companies where they have put my books in book fairs. Also, social media has helped me out a lot on being able to promote my books online and constantly networking has made it easier to become a more successful author.
