Meet Brianna Haddock

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna Haddock. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Brianna , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I am a firm believer in “fake it until you make it.” In my opinion, there will always be days where you feel like an imposter. It is incredibly easy to compare yourself to others, or to minimize your accomplishments. All of this can lead to feeling like you don’t deserve to be where you are; that’s when I believe it’s most important to pretend. Ignore the little voice in the back of your head belittling you and instead, act like you know EXACTLY what you’re doing and who you are. Confidence has a way of sticking around, even when it’s initially fake.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m an Atlanta based actress and model. Currently, my biggest focus is on acting. I love the feeling of walking onto a studio lot, or being on location- something about it always feels like home. The energy, the sense of purpose that everyone has, it’s contagious. My favorite part of acting is the incredible people that it has allowed me to meet. I cannot even begin to describe how much I’ve learned from those around me. It’s truly a blessing.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I’d have to say that active listening, being adaptable to those around you, and expecting the unexpected have been the most helpful to me in my personal journey. I’m naturally an introverted person, so I thought I knew all about active listening, then I got to college and had an amazing professor who opened my eyes (or ears, I should say). She taught me that active listening is crucial for all forms of relationships, and that listening to understand, and not to respond, is key. This continues to benefit me every day. Which leads me to my next skill- be adaptable. In acting, you work with many different people with many types of personalities. Every director and co-worker will have their own unique ways of doing things. This doesn’t make one way necessarily better than the other, but it does mean that you have to be able to adapt & be a chameleon of sorts. Don’t be rigid, be able to change to benefit not only yourself, but others around you. Lastly, always expect the unexpected. The best and worst parts of my career thus far have all been surprises. I’ve learned to not take anything personally, and to express gratitude when something great manages to cross my path. Surprises are a part of the game.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking to meet creative folks in the acting and modeling industry. I care a lot about my work, and I’d love to meet others who are passionate as well. If you are a director, agent, or photographer, I’d be happy to discuss possible future collaborations. I can be found on Instagram @itsbriannahaddock. I can also be contacted through my work email- itsbriannahaddock@gmail.com
