We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Norton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Brianna with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I learned to work hard from my mom. She is a strong resilient woman who raise two strong successful daughters on her own with little resources.
Following her example of building a career for herself in a time that women fairly did did that. She was an outlier.
I’ve don’e that too with different circumstances. I left a situation that was toxic to forge a path of success for myself. Hopefully setting an example for my own daughters proliferating strong, successful, fulfilled woman.
I like to work; to feel accomplished and good at what I do. I like helping and serving others to become their best selves and to reach their individual potential.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My full time job is as sales and operations director for a multi-unit fitness franchise. I also teach the lagree method Pilates at a local Atlanta studio pastime with a few personal training and yoga students on the side. I like to keep mu self busy. If I could do anything without needing to support myself financially I would teach full time and travel.
Lately I’m interested in learning more about wellness travel and how I can incorporate that into life as a business. I’d like to focus on the fulfillment of the whole person and coach to that in the future. This would include, physical fitness, nutrition, sleep, relationships and doing the things that bring YOU joy and satisfaction even the hard things. This is even more relevant as we age and there is great opportunity in this space as well.
Thinking about opportunities for nurturing the whole person in the virtual world too.
I’m excited to see what the future holds.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Keep going Perseverance
Resilience
I don’t want to say never give up but only give up when it’s time and you will know.
Failure is an opportunity for success
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Stop and take a break, go for a walk, turn upside down, do an activity, cook, clean, get outside, take in the fresh air and sunshine. Stop doing and just be…the overwhelm will be easier to bite off small pieces later.
