We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brianna Reinhold, LPC, CFRC, ERPSCC. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brianna below.
Brianna, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I don’t think I’ve overcome imposter syndrome — and honestly, I’m not sure I want to. It’s still there, just quieter now. It used to run the show, especially early in my career. Even though I had the training, the credentials, and was working in a specialty field where I knew the material well, I constantly felt like I had to be better — like what I brought to the table wasn’t enough.
Part of that came from perfectionism. But mostly, it came from a deep desire to help people heal and not wanting to get it wrong. Over time, I learned that being “enough” wasn’t about being perfect — it was about being present, being real, and being willing to grow. I started to trust my own voice, lean into my strengths, and stop apologizing for my style. I realized I’m not going to be the right fit for everyone — and that’s okay. I’m not supposed to be.
So no, I haven’t “beat” imposter syndrome. But I’ve made peace with it. These days, I use it as a tool — a reminder to keep learning, keep evaluating, and keep growing. It doesn’t hold me back anymore. If anything, it sharpens me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Northern Lights Therapy — a multi-location group practice in Arizona that provides mental health therapy to a wide range of individuals. I’ve been a licensed clinician since 2012 and have worked in some of the toughest settings out there: prison systems, community mental health, and now, building and running a practice that actually gives a damn.
My specialty is working with first responders, veterans, and individuals struggling with complex trauma. I also provide clinical supervision to early-career clinicians, helping them find their voice, their confidence, and their style — especially if they never had the kind of guidance they deserved in the beginning.
I wear a lot of hats: business owner, supervisor, clinician, speaker, trainer, mentor, volunteer clinician, writer, and board member for several nonprofits. But at the core, it all comes down to this — I help people heal, and I help clinicians grow. That’s the heartbeat of what I do.
Northern Lights Therapy isn’t your average practice. We’ve got specialists who work with little kids, teens, adults, couples — you name it. Every clinician brings something unique to the table, and we’re big on collaboration, education, and breaking down stigma in the communities around us. We host a free “You Matter” Wellness Event every spring — complete with local resources, mental health education, and yes… actual tattoos. Because healing doesn’t have to look one way.
What I’m most passionate about is helping the people who often feel unheard or overlooked — and partnering with others who care just as much about making mental health accessible, real, and human. NLT isn’t just a clinic. It’s a community.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me, the three biggest things were my family, my personal struggles, and my stubbornness.
My family taught me what it means to work hard and to take pride in what you put out into the world. That stuck with me. I’ve always been determined to take care of myself — not just for survival, but so I could show up for the people I love. I saw people around me struggle without access to the help they needed, and I knew I wanted to be someone who could offer that kind of support.
My own personal battles — and witnessing the pain of others — gave me the drive to help people feel seen, heard, and like they mattered. I’ve always believed everyone deserves at least one person in their corner who believes in them, and I’ve made that my mission.
And then there’s the stubbornness — the thing that won’t let me quit. Even when I hit a wall or feel burned out, I don’t stay down for long. I regroup, I refocus, and I come back. Because giving up just isn’t an option. You can always redesign, pivot, and try again.
My advice for anyone starting out? Know your “why,” and let it anchor you. Let your struggles shape you, not define you. And if you’re wired like me — a little scrappy, a little stubborn — don’t lose that. It’ll carry you through the hard stuff when nothing else makes sense. Remember, there is always a reason things happen, even when you think it is for the worst. That just means you are meant to go a different direction.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely. I’m always open to collaborating with like-minded individuals — not just in the mental health world, but across all industries. Mental health touches every part of life, so whether you’re a business owner, a first responder agency, a school, or just someone passionate about wellness and community impact, I want to hear from you.
I love teaming up with other professionals to create wellness events, speak at trainings, support first responder and military initiatives, and help businesses develop programs that actually support employee well-being and retention — not just check a box.
I offer guest speaking, customized trainings, and awareness events, and I’m always open to hearing new ideas. If you’ve got something in mind and you’re serious about breaking the stigma and building something real, reach out. Let’s make it happen.
