We recently connected with Brianna Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
For self-care I like to get my nails done, go shopping, movies or something fun. It really helps get my mind off the events of the day or thinking about the next day of let’s say work. I’m a news producer full time and you have to find an escape from the stories you read and write. I mean let’s face it, news is not all cakes and pies so for you not to get sucked in or go down a rabbit hole…self-care is very important.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the CEO/creative of a black media brand called Blackmediamoguls. It’s literally everything media. Right now things are getting updated on my website and new apparel and services will be added soon. The most exciting thing about my brand is, it’s mine. It came from my creativity, hardwork and dedication
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe I am where I am now is because I started from working as a PA and literally working my way up. Also during those times I was determined to learn what others did for their job! Those who are early in the journey, don’t give up! Just bcuz you’re new to this, do what’s necessary to get to where you want to be.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me is support. Education was always encouraged and continuing to educate yourself after you graduate to sharpen your skills. They’ve always supported what I’ve wanted to do but also explained what obstacles may come as well! So it’s always been here’s the real but you still have our support!
