Meet Bridget Moore

We were lucky to catch up with Bridget Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.

Bridget, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose emerged from my own journey of overcoming an eating disorder, where I discovered the therapeutic power of expressing my experiences through words and illustrations. As I healed, I realized that my story resonated with others facing similar struggles. Witnessing the impact of my work on my audience, I found a deeper purpose in providing reassurance and comfort. Beyond my personal healing, my mission now centers on fostering a sense of community, letting others know they are not alone in their challenges. There’s a profound beauty in the shared human experience of overcoming adversity, and I am committed to being a source of support and encouragement for those on their unique journeys.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am dedicated to my passion for illustrations and am actively expanding their reach. Recently, I illustrated “This is Not Brave,” a body positivity book, as part of my commitment to promoting self-love. I’ve broadened my services to offer custom illustrations, including portraits on giftable items like mugs and wine glasses, making art more accessible. Additionally, I allocate time to provide branding services for organizations in need, such as Planned Parenthood, NEDA, and more. My goal is to use my artistic talents for personal expression and impact a wider audience through various creative avenues.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience, empathy, and dedication. All I can say is if you want it, it can be yours! Pushing through the hard sh*t is where the growth is, so dedicate yourself, persevere, and practice empathy to yourself in your craft for others. Make art for the people to see themselves in.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Currently, one of the significant challenges I’m facing is the delicate balance of being a new mother while juggling work responsibilities. Nurturing both my child and my professional pursuits in a society that often expects mothers to effortlessly manage it all has proven to be demanding. The constant pressure has taken a toll on my mental health, underscoring the importance of prioritizing self-care. Striking a harmonious equilibrium between caring for my infant, meeting work obligations, and safeguarding my mental well-being has become a top priority during this transformative period of my life.
