We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bridgette Palomino. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bridgette below.
Hi Bridgette, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
i believe my resilience was self-taught. i grew up with a lot of lack of emotional love and validation/understanding which i had to learn to give to myself on my own. definitely was really hard to go through as a young girl but i’m glad i went through all of that because it has made me a very strong person who is sure of herself and can handle anything life throws at me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
my name is bridgette palomino, i’m a 31 year old freelance makeup artist & hairstylist!
i was born and raised in miami, florida and moved to tampa in may 2018 where i started my career in the beauty industry in 2019 and never looked back!
i always wanted to be a makeup artist my entire life, makeup was also something that boosted my personality and confidence and i wanted to do the same for other people!
there’s nothing i love more than showing a client their makeup and seeing their ecstatic reaction to how happy they are with the service i performed!
i find the work i do to be extremely special because i just love making people feel confident and beautiful.
right now i’m working on expanding my business and gaining more traction to my business accounts! i work under a few beauty teams as well as booking my own events— i’m trying to get to a place where i’m only working for myself and having people work under my company name!
if you have an event coming up, i would love for you to check out my business pages and reach out to book!

i’m also really focused on content— it’s such an important part of being in the beauty industry which is something i lacked for a long time but i’ve really stepped up this year and made sure i was getting great content of my work which has really benefited me in receiving bookings of my own and with other companies!
also, i’m currently working on my own website and should have that done
in the next few weeks to a month!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
three qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey:
1. resilience- no matter what situation i’m thrown into at work (because it’s not always all sunshine and rainbows) i handle it with softness and kindness because even if a client is being rude or someone else at their event is rude i find myself always responding back with respect and kindness which can be challenging at times but i make the best of it!
2. believing in myself- we all start from the bottom when we start our careers in the beauty industry. i was someone who didn’t believe in myself and was so hard on myself when i should’ve shown myself grace because we don’t just start being an amazing makeup artist from the get go, it’s a lot of trial and error at first. however, this year i’ve worked so hard at building a perfect makeup kit and figuring out what works best on my clients and have truly gained so much confidence in myself to execute exactly what my clients want from their services!
3. creating content- this past year i’ve really worked on creating content for my business pages which in turn brings you more business & clients and it’s really made such a difference in how busy i am with work!
advice i have for people who are early on their journey—
don’t be so hard on yourself, give yourself grace and learn from your mistakes so you can continue to improve.
don’t give up because you had one bad day, that doesn’t mean your career will always be that way!
work hard on creating content because it will truly benefit how busy you can get with work.
put yourself out there and reach out to beauty teams if you’re not booking as much as you’d like. you gain more experience having more work in your schedule which can only benefit you! it keeps you making steady money while also building your own brand in the meantime!
always be kind! like i said earlier, reacting negatively towards a client who is being rude and unfair to you isn’t going to get you anywhere. when hit with rudeness always respond with softness!
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
my biggest area of growth and improvement in the last 12 months:
1. being strict on myself on getting content of my clients and posting a lot of work on socials
2. continuing to educate myself by watch tutorials and techniques that other artists use
3. keeping my kit organized and relevant to what will work best on my clients
4. quickly responding to inquiries and making it a priority to book as much as i can!
