We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brielle Salamone. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brielle below.
Brielle, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes straight from both of my parents. Growing up, I had front-row seats to their dedication, and it truly shaped the way I approach everything in life as an adult.
My dad, a chiropractor, built his practice from the ground up. Watching him work was like watching someone turn passion into purpose. He didn’t just clock in and out, he truly loved and enjoyed helping others. Seeing this growing up was so inspiring and made me want to have a job that wasn’t just a job, but something that integrated deeply into my life.
Then there’s my mom. She managed to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, balancing bookkeeping for my dad’s business with her career in the male-dominated field of commercial real estate, all while making time for her kids and making the impossible seem effortless. She managed our home, supported all of us, made money and somehow always had time for the details that mattered most. Her organized and steady approach to getting things done taught me that success isn’t always about big, loud moments, it’s about showing up consistently and following through.
Growing up, I was never allowed to quit any sport mid-season, no matter how much I hated it. My parents believed that if I made a commitment, I needed to see it through. They taught me the importance of sticking with something, even when it was uncomfortable or challenging. The deal was simple: I didn’t have to sign up again next season, but I had to honor the commitment I made for the current one.
Looking back, this lesson shaped my approach to responsibility and perseverance. It wasn’t just about sports, but about learning to follow through, even when things got tough. That mindset has stuck with me and continues to guide me in all areas of my life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m currently finishing my doctoral degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego while working part-time at Sage Haven, a holistic wellness clinic in San Diego. My focus is on cosmetic acupuncture, which has become my true passion, as well as women’s health and stress and anxiety management. I’m especially excited about modernizing and normalizing this ancient healing practice so it can reach and help more people.
Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural and holistic approach to skincare that goes far beyond reducing wrinkles. It improves skin tone, elasticity, and texture while supporting health by addressing the root causes of imbalances. I love that it offers a way to promote natural beauty without relying on invasive procedures or toxins. It’s amazing to see clients feel more confident in their skin while also improving their energy, sleep, digestion, and stress levels, a true one-stop-shop.
Right now, I’m building my own brand and social media presence to make TCM, and especially cosmetic acupuncture, more approachable for women in their 20s and 30s. My goal is to educate people on how these treatments can fit into their busy lives while offering a sustainable, non-toxic alternative to mainstream beauty trends. Looking ahead, I’m excited to launch a practice that specializes in cosmetic acupuncture and facial massage that redefines the med spa experience. My vision is to create a space where ancient practices and beauty meet. I want my clients to have a place where they feel nurtured, supported, and confident. The vibe will be rooted in maximalism and unapologetically unique, reflecting my belief that beauty isn’t about perfection; it’s about embracing your best, healthiest self.
This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to continue sharing the benefits of cosmetic acupuncture!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, curiosity, and a commitment to growth
1. Resilience
The ability to stick with something, even when it feels overwhelming, has been a quality instilled in me from a young age. Pursuing a doctoral degree while navigating life has taught me that the best rewards often come from pushing through challenges. For anyone starting out, my advice is to allow discomfort to be part of the process, because discomfort means you are growing. Always remind yourself why you started and what your overall goal is.
2. Curiosity
Staying curious has been key to finding my niche in cosmetic acupuncture. When I first began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, I was fascinated by how ancient practices could align with modern needs. This curiosity drove me to dive deeper and ultimately led me to specialize in something I’m deeply passionate about. For those starting their journey, don’t be afraid to explore different paths. Never be afraid to ask questions and if you are, just reframe it not as asking a question but giving someone else the opportunity to be generous with their knowledge.
3. Commitment to Growth
Personal and professional growth has been my constant focus. Whether it’s learning new techniques, connecting with mentors, or refining my vision for my future practice, I’ve always prioritized evolving. My advice is to approach your journey with a growth mindset. Accept that you won’t be perfect at everything right away and view mistakes as opportunities to learn. Consistency over time will take you further than instant perfection.
For anyone early in their journey, remember that progress is rarely linear. Resilience, curiosity, and a commitment to growth will not only keep you moving forward but will also make the process more rewarding.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Here are a couple of things I do when feeling overwhelmed:
Physical movement is my go-to for clearing my head and resetting. Whether it’s a quick walk with my dog, yoga, or even just stretching, it helps me release built-up tension and regain focus.
This one is really important. When stress feels overwhelming, I focus on small, manageable tasks to regain control. I love lists so crossing even one thing off my to-do list gives me momentum and helps break the cycle of overthinking.
