We recently connected with Britney Crosson and have shared our conversation below.
Britney, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my childhood. When we’re children, we tend to push forward through things, even when they’re quite difficult, because we don’t know any other solution. Our young brains and hearts aren’t jaded yet. And we don’t feel defeated by life yet. Little Britney went through a lot in her family. Yet still through the struggles, she had a true belief in her heart that she was here on this earth to do HUGE things. As I got older, life happened, as it does. And currently at the age of 44, I still haven’t accomplished all of the things that Little Britney strived for. That version of me is what keeps me going. I want to pull through for her. And if she could get through the shit she got through as a kid, I can get through anything as a grownup.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a joy and hope fairy. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. Part of my life’s purpose is to spread joy and hope to others through social media and beyond. I especially love doing this at the age of 44, because I think that the older we are when we’re doing cool shit in our lives, the more inspiring it is to others. While I do believe it’s getting better, there’s still a huge focus on youth being *the* time to accomplish goals. But, what’s that popular saying? “Youth is wasted on the young?” No offense to anyone younger than me, but I do believe that statement to be true much of the time. When someone sees me dancing on my treadmill on social media or building my company from scratch in my 40s, I want them to feel happiness and hope and know that it’s not too late for them. They can do wonderful things in their lives too. I started my company, Fun Love Media, in 2019. Fun Love Media is a creative marketing agency that specializes in creating video content for social media. I was an actor for years throughout my childhood, teen years and young adulthood. So running Fun Love Media, working on productions for brands that want to make a positive impact on their communities by showing up in front of audiences is an excellent alignment. The actor in me understands how to handle an audience. And I love helping business owners do that for themselves.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important skills and qualities that have helped me in my journey are staying in touch with my childhood dreams, always having something to be excited about, and keeping promises to myself. These three things keep hope alive within me, help me enjoy life more, and build my confidence.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
The ideal Fun Love Media client isn’t in a certain industry. It’s a personality match and a purpose match. We work with mission-driven brands run by passionate people… people that want to make a positive impact on their communities and on the world. We love working with people that have a zest for life and want to have fun within their career. When we tell the stories of people and brands like this through our work, we can feel that we are helping change the world… one video at a time.
