Meet Brittany Ball

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittany Ball a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Brittany, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Hands down, my parents. They have been pivotal in helping me adjust to so many changes throughout my life. My Dad was in the Air Force for 20 years & we experienced a lot of changes, moving, friends moving, military deployments & more. Growing up in that lifestyle, especially as an only child, I became pretty independent & self-sufficient. As a military wife, my mom displayed so much resilience, setting a great example. As I got older we went through many trials as a family. My mom beat cancer twice, breast cancer & lung cancer, all while I was in Nursing school. My Mother-In-Law, unfortunately passed from Colon Cancer when I was 14 weeks pregnant with my son & we lost my Dad last year after a 2.5 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. All of them displayed such courage & strength through their battles. As a Nurse & Daughter, I became their advocates. I was not willing to back down & ensured they all received the best care, asked the right questions, & made sure their treatment plans were appropriate. I have learned so much over the years, grown as a person, as a mom & as a nurse. I had to learn to hold my head high, to be there for my family, to make space for myself when I was having tough days, all while life continued around us.
My resilience comes from a combination of my life experiences & values. My journey from corporate nursing to launching my own business, On The Ball Virtual, required me to prioritize family & navigate significant life changes, like being there for my dad during his battle with cancer. That period taught me the importance of balancing what truly matters. I’ve learned how to stay grounded under pressure. This, combined with my passion for helping others succeed, gives me the inner strength to push through challenges & support my clients & loved ones with unwavering dedication.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My dedicated team at On The Ball Virtual & I specialize in supporting Aesthetic Injectors & their practices by enhancing client retention, revenue, & utilization. With a comprehensive suite of services that includes administrative support, client retention messaging, monthly newsletters, data entry, strategic guidance, & more, we cater to both ongoing retainer clients & project-based needs. Our expertise extends to strategy calls, Asana VIP Days tailored for efficient task management setups across all industries, & consulting for larger MedSpas aiming to build exceptional client retention systems. We also works with national trainers for large aesthetics brands to help them manage their training schedules & travel while they are working in their own practices.

We pride ourselves in helping injectors grow their businesses, ensuring they feel supported & confident that their practice is treated with the utmost care—just as if it were our own. We have been able to increase utilization for practices by 10-20% in just a few short months, doubled rewards reimbursements from the previous year, & increase revenue over $100K from the previous year, all because of personalized outreach & client retention systems we have created.

On The Ball recently expanded & has now two additional team members to support our injectors. We have been helping clients with their EHR conversions, taking on more project work, launching offers for MedSpas to audit their systems & train their staff to do what we do & recently launched strategy calls for the opportunity to pick our brains. We are excited for this growth & the opportunities that are coming our way.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey – all go back to me being a Nurse. Like most of my clients, we align personality wise, morally & ethically. We are all multi-passionate, self proclaimed “control freaks” & all have a hard time asking for help. Because I have the deep understanding of this, along with my knowledge of the medical system, it has built the trust factor almost immediately.

Other skills would be critical thinking & adaptability. In my career as on OR Nurse, you have to be ready to at all times as our environment can rapidly change. You have to be a self-starter, take initiative & be able to switch gears quickly, while also being able to maintain patient safety. It has served me well when life has thrown curveballs or when something changes quickly in a client project. You have to be able to adapt quickly & take the initiative to make it happen.

One piece of advice I would give to those starting their own business is to lean into your strengths & play to what you already know. You truly have more skills in your toolbox than you realize from your life experience alone. And also to network & maintain those connections, as they could be the connection you need down the road to that dream client. I have worked very hard in local networking groups, networking in aligned industries & even in online communities. I promise it will pay off!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
I don’t feel that there is any one person in particular, but my community in general. In the last few years, I have surrounded myself with other women in the entrepreneurial space who are in all different stages of their businesses. Some who have had monumental growth who I have been able to seek out for advice, some who are just getting started that I can give some encouragement to, some who are also moms & we can help each other find the balance, & some who are in the thick of growth like myself you can understand the challenges.

My community is the people I lean on when I need help or who can point me in the right direction if they do not have the skillset for what I need. It has honestly been so pivotal in my business growth, as some of the members of my community were my first clients & have referred me so many since then. They were also the people who helped me through one of the most challenging times in my life.

And I would not be able to do what I do without the support of my family, as their encouragement & confidence in my abilities have pushed me to strive for more.
