Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Brittany with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Well I lost my mother at 10 months and I had no father.I went into Foster Care at 14 years old.While in foster care I witnessed how there was no genuine care or love that surrounded me.Money was constantly stolen from me from foster parents and foster care agencies. I was saddened that certain protections were not put in place for me being an orphan and I told myself I wanted to build something that no one could take from my myself, my daughter, or my future grandchildren.So my work ethic comes from my determination to build wealth for my offspring on the Earth.I never want them to feel the way I did as a kid.

Angel Wing Sauce is a gourmet hot wing sauce created by Ms.Brittany Futrell in 2006 in her very own kitchen, her daughter created the name and helps with running the small business.Angel Wing Sauce is a vegan product, that consist of a hot sauce base.It includes molasses made with pure sugar cane and maple syrup that comes from maple trees from the mountains of North Carolina and array of spices made from herbs freshly picked right here in beautiful North Carolina .Angel Wing Sauce was initially made to put on hot wings but can be used as a marinade for any meat or vegetables. Angel Wing Sauce has a taste of southern flair reminding you of a product straight out of grandmas pantry.More importantly Angel Wing Sauce is made with love and delivering a high quality product that will last generation after generation this is very important to us.Angel Wing Sauce understands we live in a cold world but when you use Angel Wing Sauce on a meal you share with family and friends you will experience peace, love and goodness.Ms. Futrell decided to manufacture her gourmet recipe to share with the world to build a family legacy and bring back the taste of the “good ole days” when big mamma was in the kitchen. Ms. Futrell started Angel Wing Sauce in 2015 making her the first black woman to own a hot sauce business in North Carolina. Angel Wing Sauce is dedicated to empowering under-resourced and under-served young entrepreneurs in the sauce industry through the development and implementation of innovative strategies and tools. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship that promotes shared strategic goals and fosters growth in the community. We aim to facilitate opportunities for young entrepreneurs by providing mentorship, networking, and access to resources, including financial assistance and professional development programs. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back the three quality skills or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey was first determination.Along the way of being an entrepreneur and building Legacy there will be many obstacles and things that come against you to try to stop you but determination was something that I kept with me and I wouldn’t let anything stop me I never took” no” for an answer. Secondly the skill of research helped me tremendously I never just took people’s words for it, when it came to organizations such as the United States Department of Agriculture or the North Carolina Department of Agriculture I always did my own research and read my own rules and laws for the state of North Carolina everyone doesn’t want to see you be great. Thirdly the most important of all is my faith in God.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The book that has played an important role in my development is the Bible I constantly reflect on the scripture Isaiah 54:17 “no weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tougue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn”,another scripture that I carry with me everyday is Philippians 4:13″ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” carrying these verses in my heart and my mind on a daily basis reminds me that nothing is impossible with Christ and that nothing can stop me and all things are possible!
