Meet Brittany Sensabaugh

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittany Sensabaugh a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.

My ability to take risks came from my own hunger for more. I learned early on that you don’t get anywhere great in life without committing fully. The saying “no reward without risk” might be cliché, but it’s true. I’ve always been willing to bet on myself, even when the path ahead felt risky, and those moments have ultimately led me exactly where I wanted to be.

Risk forces you to look at your life and decide if the pain of change is worth more than the pain of staying the same. For me, it always is. I’d rather try, fail, and learn than live with the regret of never taking the shot. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t but at least you know you went for it.

My ability to take risks comes from a deep fear of mediocrity and a refusal to settle. It’s been fueled by belief in myself, confidence in my abilities, and the willingness to bet on myself every single time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I don’t just sell houses. I protect dreams, crunch the numbers, and fight for my clients like it’s my own investment on the line.

I’m a realtor who works like it’s personal, because it is. I meet my clients where they are, ask the questions that really matter, and treat every investment like my own. My approach is equal parts grit and strategy: I run the numbers, cut the fluff, and help you make decisions you can feel good about years from now.

Real estate, for me, isn’t just about houses, it’s about guiding people through one of the biggest financial and emotional moves of their lives. I believe in leading with facts over fear, looking at each opportunity with a clear head, and making sure my clients feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.

Whether it’s your first home or your fifth, I bring the hustle, the heart, and a touch of fun to the process, because buying or selling your home should be exciting, not overwhelming.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

For me, three qualities have made all the difference: adaptability, asking the right questions, and letting the numbers lead. Real estate is unpredictable, so adaptability keeps me steady when deals take unexpected turns. Asking the right questions allows me to get past surface-level answers and uncover what my clients truly want and need. And above all, I have learned not to take it personal. In this business, emotions can cloud judgment, so I focus on the math, not the noise. That is how I guide my clients toward decisions they will not regret, no matter what the market throws our way.

If you are just starting out, learn to pivot fast, listen deeper than you speak, and let the numbers be your compass. Those three skills will carry you further than any sales script ever could.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Right now, my biggest challenge is navigating a slower, more unpredictable market where many people are hesitant to make a move because of what they’re hearing in the media. A lot of it is fueled by misinformation and uncertainty, which can easily turn into fear. My approach is to cut through the noise with facts, clear strategies, and honest conversations that empower my clients to make confident decisions. I can’t control the market, but I can control how I guide people through it and that’s exactly where I choose to focus.
