We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittany Webb a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My parents!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
So I am the CEO/Founder of two businesses, which are Britts Bikini and Swimwear and BBSW SKIN. I started both businesses in 2020; and that was the best choice I could have made. But however, I am here to talk to you all about my Whipped Body Butters. My whipped body butters key ingredients are Mango Butter, Vitamin E Oil and Jojoba Oil (I also have many other oils I add as well). I realized that my body butters is classified as the ultimate “skin savior” for those seeking intense hydration, relief from dry skin, and a solution for eczema-prone skin. BBSW SKIN luxurious butters are a game-changer, bringing your skin the nourishment it craves. Say goodbye to dryness, hello to softness, and experience the comfort you deserve. Elevate your skincare routine with BBSW SKIN Whipped Body Butters!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Doing research to better improve my knowledge on how to run businesses, being consistent, hardworking, daring and most importantly putting God first in everything I do.
My advice would be start by identifying your strengths and weaknesses. This self-awareness will help you focus on areas that need improvement and those you can leverage. Set clear goals! Define specific, achievable goals related to the qualities, skills, or knowledge you want to develop. Having clear objectives provides direction. Continuous learning! Make learning a habit. Whether through formal education, online courses, books, or practical experience, keep acquiring new knowledge and skills.
Seek mentorship, find a mentor or advisor who can guide you. Their experience and insights can be invaluable in your development. Practice and repetition, The more you practice, the better you become. Consistent effort is essential for skill development. Learn how to embrace challenges. Don’t shy away from difficult situations. Challenges and failures are opportunities for growth.
NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! Build a strong professional network. Interacting with others in your field can and will provide learning opportunities and support! Time management, efficiently manage your time to allocate it to learning and skill-building. Prioritize tasks based on their importance and urgency.
Lastly, having Patience and perseverance! Growth takes time. Stay patient and committed to your journey, even when faced with setbacks.
Remember that personal and professional growth is a continuous process. Consistent effort and a willingness to learn and adapt will contribute to your success on your journey.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
First and foremost, God! Without Him I would not be who I am. Walking in Faith and not Fear was challenging for me year two of being in business. I did not know what the next step would be. Luckily, I have a solid relationship with my Bishop and other church members. The word kept my head afloat and having them pray over me. I honestly, would like to applaud my parents, immediate family and friends for helping me through my journey. I have cried so much, I’ve been vulnerable and uncomfortable. But my family and friends made sure I did not give up. Also encouraging words kept me going as well. Because being an entrepreneur is challenging, but you have to keep your head up and continue striving for greatness!
