Meet Brittinie Love

We were lucky to catch up with Brittinie Love recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittinie, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

When it comes to resilience, I find that the only way to build it… is when you are faced with adversity. There was no blue print for me when it came to walking into entrepreneurship. For most of my life, all of the adults around me, Showed me resilience when faced with being laid off, wrongfully terminated, and challenges in their corporate America. Their examples were that even with adversity, always to keep God first, and that he would fight your battles.

In the chef and catering world it is incredibly competitive, Starting out as a small black business, not often do we have mentors or people within the space that can teach you how they have become successful. A lot of times I found myself running into challenges that I had to figure out on my own, or research heavily to understand even sometimes operating systems. Again, some things you just don’t know until you run right into it. For me, the easy way out… was to quit. But, when I realized that me taking a leap meant that it was attached to other individuals “Yes” I had to keep going. It’s bigger than me

So I am inclined to say that through my faith in God, that is how I have built my resilience by trusting and believing that, it’s all working for my good.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a personal chef and caterer that is based in the pacific northwest, but also travels beyond. I got my start at a very early age. However, when the pandemic happened, it really lit a flame under me to really step out into showing people how to do simple meals at home. I am actively working with other companies to create a brand that is not just about food but full production for your ultimate event experience. Ranging from décor customization, bar services, entertainment and DJ. Also, providing a curator for the event needs. The goal is to franchise across the globe. I have partnered with some incredible women, such as Jade Whitney Designs and mobile Mart-NINI Who are extremely passionate purpose driven in their craft. Work routinely together to curate our clients. And guests experience to be more than just any party. And within the name itself, we do everything from a place of love.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Consistency is incredibly important! Even if you have to repost or reshare an event or product you are selling do so. Inconsistency is not just about constantly showing that you are booked and busy, but also the quality of the product that you are providing. Don’t get lazy but continue to remind yourself. Why you’re doing what you’re doing. Make sure that you have systems or streamline options for your potential clients, making it easier for yourself and working smarter and not harder. This could mean ways in which that you process contracts and proposals, How you are able to get help or people to employe. Most importantly, love what you do and do the proper research to grow at the pace that you are supposed to. Don’t compare yourself or be concerned of those in the field that you’re in or what they are doing. Because not what everyone is doing is legit. And not what everyone is about. Is for good purposes. Comparison is the thief of joy. Manage, what is in front of you and continue to watch how things will work for you.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

There have been plenty of moments in which that I had felt overwhelmed. When you start any business, it starts as an idea. But then quickly, you realize there’s a lot of logistics that go into running a legitimate business. Sometimes it’s just getting that actual job done for that day. Other times it could be feeling overwhelmed from trying to respond to every email and keeping up with meetings and following up. I have to remind myself that I am the one running the ship. And if it is for me, I won’t have to chase it down. Or worry that I may potentially lose it. Also, not allowing pride to interfere with just simply asking for help. Something I do daily is going on a morning walk where I can think quietly to myself, pray, Sometimes organize my day and thoughts. To simply put it “me time”

Also I have to add that a massage every once in a while, never hurt! And if you plan it right, take a vacation and turn your emails off.
