Meet Brittney Renee

We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Renee recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Brittney with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I feel like my work ethic comes from my New England upbringing. I was used to being told that I always had to work for what I wanted, show up on time, be reliable, etc. I love when I’m the person I can show others that you can get what you want regardless of your flaws. I was told a lot of times when I was a kid I wouldn’t amount to certain things. At a time I was on TV and I’ve also performed songs on stage with players who have played with well known musicians.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am currently working on two things. I am working on a Tool cover band called Aenima Femme and my new small business Rebel 95 where I sell handmade jewelry and hopefully tees soon as well as other trinkets.

Aenima Femme would be the first female fronted Tool cover band. I have always admired Maynard’s vocal range, ability, and lyrics. There are not a lot of females who cover or write stuff like this.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being able to differentiate myself as in being someone to do something that stands out from the crowd and can really grab people’s attention and interest. I also have realized that I needed to up my game as a vocalist. I had to get better and be able to add more finesse to my vocal technique. Then creativity outside of music meaning what can I create that people will want to buy at shows? I saw a girl on IG who designed Tool jewelry bracelets out of kids beads. Instead I did mine with more semi precious stones and silver letter beads. I’m really happy with the way they came out.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes I currently collaborate with Megan Johnston who runs Liquid Red which is a company that specializes in the LGBT and kink communities. Megan and I have organized an event in the past and have successfully brought out a crowd.

If you are going to collaborate I would do it with someone who believes in your brand as much as you do but who also can bring a similar audience.
