We were lucky to catch up with Brittni Cain recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittni, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my unwavering commitment to my family and the work I do. As a mother to two wonderful children, one with autism, I’ve had to develop a strong sense of patience and adaptability. Homeschooling my kids allows me to be actively involved in their growth, while working a full-time job and managing my photography business gives me purpose and drive. I also volunteer at church and lead the photography and social media team, which reminds me of the importance of community and serving others. It’s the combination of all these responsibilities—and the knowledge that every challenge is an opportunity to grow—that fuels my resilience. It’s about balancing all the roles I play while staying grounded in the love and faith that keep me going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Brittni Cain, the face behind Brittni Cain Photography, based in North Georgia. I specialize in family photography, with a focus on natural light, candid moments, and lifestyle sessions. My passion is capturing the unique stories of each family, whether through outdoor adventures or intimate moments at home. I believe in creating images that feel authentic and timeless—portraits that reflect the love, joy, and connection that make each family special.
What excites me most about my work is how personal it is. As a homeschooling mom of two and a wife, I know how quickly time passes, and how precious those everyday moments are. I’m always honored to help families preserve these memories in a way that tells their true story, from the laughter-filled days to the quiet, meaningful exchanges.
I also deeply value the relationships I build with my clients, many of whom I’ve had the privilege of working with for years. I truly see each session as a collaboration, where I guide you through creating images that reflect who you are as a family. My goal is to make each session relaxed, enjoyable, and full of genuine moments.
If you’re looking for beautiful, heartfelt images that capture your family’s story, I would love to work with you. Right now, I’m also excited to announce that I’m expanding my offerings to include new themed mini-sessions, perfect for those looking to celebrate special moments throughout the year.
I can’t wait to capture your story through my lens!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful are adaptability, patience, and a deep sense of purpose.
Adaptability has been essential, especially as a mother homeschooling two children while running a photography business and working a full-time job. Every day presents new challenges, so being flexible and open to adjusting plans has kept me grounded and able to handle what comes my way. Whether I’m adjusting a session due to weather or switching gears to meet the needs of my family, staying adaptable has allowed me to keep going even when things don’t go as planned.
Patience has been key, particularly in my work as a mother and a photographer. I’ve learned to be patient with myself, with my clients, and with the process. Photography sessions, especially with families, can be unpredictable, but trusting in the process and allowing space for natural moments to unfold often results in the most beautiful images. Patience is also crucial when homeschooling my children and supporting my son with autism. It’s about recognizing that growth and progress don’t always happen on a set timeline and that every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.
Finally, a deep sense of purpose drives everything I do. I’m passionate about capturing memories for families, especially as someone who understands how fleeting moments with children can be. Being able to serve others through my photography and knowing that I’m helping families preserve moments that will last a lifetime gives me the motivation to push through busy seasons and stay focused on my long-term goals.
For those who are just starting out on a similar journey, my advice would be: Embrace the power of consistency. Start small and stay committed to your craft, even if it’s just a few hours a week. Be patient with your growth—it takes time to build skill, confidence, and a business that aligns with your values. And most importantly, never lose sight of your “why.” When you have a clear purpose and passion behind what you do, it will keep you motivated even on the hard days.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The person who has been most helpful in my development has been my faith. Over the years, it has provided me with a sense of purpose and the strength to face challenges, especially after the passing of my mother in 2023. Her lessons of love, patience, and perseverance still echo in my heart, and my faith has been a steady guide as I continue navigating life’s demands.
Through my responsibilities as a mother, wife, managing my work, and leading at church, my faith teaches me the importance of service, community, and trust in God’s plan. Even in the most difficult times, my belief has been the grounding force that allows me to grow, adapt, and move forward.
