Meet Brooke Simmons

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brooke Simmons. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Brooke, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

There are two great ways to keep the creativity fresh:

Connecting with Couples

Every couple’s story is unique, and I aim to weave their personalities and love into every detail of their wedding. When I meet with clients, I listen closely to their dreams and preferences, digging deep to understand what makes their love story special. This personalized approach keeps every project fresh and meaningful.

Collaborating with Creative Vendors

Working with talented vendors is a constant source of inspiration to push those creative boundaries. Together, we brainstorm ways to turn a couple’s vision into reality, often creating something entirely new and unexpected.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I took my leap of faith in the summer of 2022 with my event planning business. Event planning and creative design have always been a passion of mine, but I have yet to pursue the idea. The idea of wanting to start a family shortly got my idea in motion, and I made it a reality! I wanted to be able to manage my hours to allow me to be a stay-at-home mom. All while still having something to call my own without that ‘something’ being a 9-5p office job.

I offer a unique package that sets me apart from other local planners in my area. I give all of my couples the same starting ‘wedding management’ package that offers the bare bones of coordination. From there, I have additional ala carte offerings so each client can pick the ala carte item(s) add on(s) that they may see best fits for their specific needs and vision! This helps to cater to a wider audience!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were creativity, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Advice: Start small but dream big. Find opportunities to shadow experienced professionals, join communities of like-minded individuals, and never stop learning. You don’t need to know everything to start; you just need the willingness to grow and a passion for the journey ahead.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I always am looking for ways to connect with my community! Whether it is local college students looking for internships, or vendors in the industry looking to expand their portfolio of clients. Connections are key in this industry!

They can reach out to me via email to talk details!
