Meet Brookelin Barnhill

We were lucky to catch up with Brookelin Barnhill recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brookelin, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My confidence didn’t come from “figuring it all out” or finally feeling fearless – it came from learning how to stay with myself through discomfort.

For a long time, I tied my worth to performance, productivity, and how well I was perceived by others. Through my own healing journey – including breathwork, movement, somatic practices, and deep self-inquiry – I began rebuilding trust with myself. Confidence became less about proving and more about presence.

As I learned to regulate my nervous system, listen to my body, and honor my inner voice, my self-esteem naturally grew. I realized that confidence isn’t loud – it’s steady. It’s knowing I can meet whatever arises and respond with care instead of criticism.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a transformational coach, breath work facilitator, movement practitioner, and space-holder. I support overwhelmed, high-capacity humans who feel stuck, are in burnout, indecision, or self-doubt to reconnect with clarity, confidence, and themselves. My work blends talking, breath work, sound healing, writing, and movement – because true transformation doesn’t happen in the mind alone; it happens in the body.

What feels most special about my work is the emphasis on inner safety. I don’t believe healing is about fixing yourself – it’s about remembering who you are beneath the noise. I help people create an internal environment where they can soften, breathe, and expand again. Breath is central to everything I do; it’s not just a technique, it’s a way of relating to life.

My brand is rooted in compassion, embodiment, and truth. I want people to feel seen, not rushed. Held, not hustled.

My offerings include individual and group breath work experiences, sound healing events, and teacher trainings for those who feel called to learn how to hold space for others in a trauma-aware, embodied way.

I also teach fitness classes around Denver and privately online. I am a Master Trainer for Pure Barre Corporate (leading teacher trainings for 15+ years now).

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Self-awareness – Learning to notice my patterns without judgment changed everything. Awareness creates choice.

Nervous system regulation – Understanding how stress, safety, and breath impact our decisions allowed me to move through life with more grace and less reactivity.

Trust – Trusting my timing, my intuition, and my unique path – even when it didn’t make sense to others.

What advice do you have for people early in their journey?

Slow down. You don’t need to rush your becoming. Invest in learning how your body and nervous system work – it’s the foundation for sustainable confidence and success. Seek mentors, but don’t abandon your inner voice in the process. And remember: growth doesn’t always look like forward motion – sometimes it looks like rest, reflection, and integration.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

First, I pause – and I breathe. Overwhelm is often a sign that the nervous system is overloaded, not that something is “wrong.” I simplify, come back to my body, and ask: What’s actually needed right now?

Someone once told me, “Queens do not get overwhelmed – they delegate, they breathe, and they trust.” That stuck with me. When overwhelm shows up, I choose to soften instead of tighten. I remind myself that urgency is rarely the truth. Presence is.

People often ask me, “what is the best way to ground yourself?” It may seem silly, but placing your hands on the ground and taking 3 slow deep breaths is the most simple tool I have found!
