Meet Brooklynn Morgan

We were lucky to catch up with Brooklynn Morgan recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brooklynn, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

There are a couple ways I keep my creativity alive. The first method is writing everyday. I try to stay in tune with what I’m feeling and write poetry or just simply put my feelings on the page. I usually write at night so I can recall my day and use what stuck out to me the most. My second method is taking a class like acting or dance, to keep my brain in an artistic mode. I’m always trying to challenge myself and my body to be able to get in that artistic/creative mode whenever it is necessary. Lastly, I try to surround myself with creative people and people I find inspiring. I love listening to another artist’s journey. It helps me remember there are a million ways to get where I wanna be, I just have to continue being me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an actress from Atlanta, Georgia. I began studying film at Georgia State University and finished my studies at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Going to a conservatory school was probably the best thing I could do for my artistic journey. It forced me to be extremely focused and dedicated to my craft. I recently started getting into directing and producing, something I’ve always wanted to do. I had an opportunity to assistant direct on my first feature film in 2022 called Selector, which will be streaming on Tubitv.com in October 2023.

What I feel is special about what I do, is that I’m in the business of telling stories and showing people a new world they’ve maybe never seen before. Being able to make audiences feel and discover new perspectives is very rewarding. Everyone has a unique story.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three skills/qualities that I feel are most important are: consistency, passion, and inquisitiveness. I believe the best way to stay consistent is joining a community like a class to help you stay accountable. A weekly class helped me train my mind on skills I know I need for my creativity and meet people with similar goals. Surrounding yourself with like minded people helps develop new tactics as well. Passion is extremely important. If you love to do it, you’ll find a way to do it. Passion keeps me driven. Honestly if I’m indulging in my passion, I’m more eager and willing to do more. Even the small things make me happy. Lastly, inquisitiveness is important because there’s always more to learn and another way to do things. Being curious and a student of life keeps you humble and gives you room to grow. I always want to get better and get closer to the best version of myself.

A bonus tip would be to celebrate your wins and acknowledge your growth. Small wins are just one step closer to where you want to be and be proud of yourself.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The number one obstacle I am facing currently, is patience. Major success doesn’t happen overnight. Of course I wish I could snap my fingers and all of my dreams are in my face, but unfortunately that’s not possible. What I do to try to overcome this, is practice gratitude for what I do have and for what I have done for myself already. Also, continuing to push forward everyday, taking small breaks when I’m tired. If I continue to stay consistent, keep my passion alive and learn new skills and techniques, I’m ready when the opportunities come.
