Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brooklynn Quirola. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brooklynn , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence and self-esteem have evolved significantly as I’ve grown into adulthood. As a child, I was quite shy and often kept to myself. However, starting my own company pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and develop a strong sense of confidence. Networking became an essential part of my business, and representing something I built entirely on my own, while witnessing the positive reactions from others, truly solidified my self-esteem. Although the wedding industry can be intimidating at times, I’ve learned to face challenges head-on and lead with a positive, proactive attitude.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At Summerset Events, we pride ourselves on being a truly full-service event planning company. We handle every detail ourselves, from designing your invitations to creating the entire look and feel of your wedding day. From the moment our clients begin designing their invitations to the final touches of their wedding day, we are there every step of the way. What sets us apart is our commitment to pushing boundaries and designing in ways that are not commonly seen in the industry. Every element we create is intentional, with a focus on infusing uniqueness into each event we handle.
While we specialize in weddings, our creativity knows no bounds. We love extending our expertise to other celebrations, including birthday parties and baby showers, ensuring that every event we touch is memorable and distinct.
What excites me most about what we do is the connection we build with our clients. We love learning their stories, understanding their vision, and then bringing that vision to life in a way that’s both creative and authentic. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to staying true to our roots—pouring our heart and soul into every event and making sure our clients’ personalities shine through in every detail.
Our brand is all about creativity, personalization, and excellence in event design, and we’re thrilled to keep pushing the envelope in the event planning industry.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey have been creativity, adaptability, and building genuine connections.
Creativity is the heartbeat of event planning. It’s what allows us to push boundaries and design events that are truly unique. When I look to get creative, I often turn to interior design and various kinds of architecture, pulling concepts that can be reimagined in an event setting. My advice to those starting out is to explore different forms of art and design—whether it’s interior spaces, architectural details, or even nature. Inspiration is everywhere; it’s just about finding it and applying it in fresh ways.
Adaptability has been crucial, especially in an industry as dynamic as event planning. No two events are the same, and being able to pivot and think on your feet is key. For those early in their journey, practice staying calm under pressure and embrace challenges as opportunities to learn. Flexibility will not only make you a better planner but also a stronger leader.
Finally, *building genuine connections has made all the difference. Event planning is a people-driven business, and taking the time to really know and understand your clients is invaluable. My advice here is to listen actively, communicate openly, and always prioritize the relationships you build. The stronger your connection with your clients and vendors, the more successful your events will be.
For anyone just starting out, focus on honing these qualities. Stay creative, be adaptable, and, above all, invest in your relationships. These skills will serve you well as you grow in your career.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Our ideal client is someone who loves being part of the planning process and cherishes every detail that goes into creating a special event. They’re the type of person who wants to be involved every step of the way, working closely with us to make sure their personality shines through in every aspect. We truly enjoy partnering with clients who see the value in collaboration and are excited to bring their unique vision to life.
What we love most is when our clients are just as passionate about the little details as we are. They’re the ones who get excited about the design process, who appreciate the creativity we bring, and who aren’t afraid to push the boundaries to make their event truly one-of-a-kind. Together, we create something more than just an event—it’s an experience that feels personal, intentional, and unforgettable.
