Hi Brow Queen LA, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
“I would say I get my resilience from life experiences and events. I’ve had my ups and downs, so I know how it feels to experience both. I’ve learned to appreciate the downs just as much as I value the wins. You need to have a couple of obstacles to learn and grow. If you think about it, everything that you’re good at, you had to fail at it at some point a couple of times to grow. I think it’s amazing to look at something you’ve grown from and look back and think, ‘Wow, look how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned.’ In fact, it excites me for the future. I love it. It’s just like building up your immune system.”
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
“We are currently in the process of developing our Training Academy, which has been over a year in the making. I am thrilled to share my expertise and tips with certified brow queens-to-be. The brand is all about women’s empowerment, not only making them feel beautiful but also sharing our talents with the world. Our online training is conducted virtually, allowing you to learn as though you are shadowing me in person. I love it because everything is in real-time and unedited. For instance, when you watch videos or reels on Instagram, they are edited to look easy, but in reality, you can run into issues that may not come up in a visually beautiful 30-second reel. In our training, you get your hands dirty with us, and I personally share my struggles when I first started. I’ve been there and know what it feels like to be a beginner and feel like giving up. It takes time, trial and error, but I can speed up that process for my fellow Brow Queens. If I can do that, I know I’m doing something right. I’ve been teaching women makeup and beauty tips for over 12 years, and it’s a rewarding feeling. However, to think that I can now teach women how to make others feel the best version of themselves, build a high-earning income, and develop a business, all in one academy, then the sky is the limit for brow queens all over the world. We’ll also be conducting in-person training in LA and Europe, so watch out for those dates.”
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would definitely have to say, pace yourself, give yourself grace, and enjoy the journey. The destination is within reaching distance, but it’s really the journey I personally enjoy. I feel especially with the PMU and beauty industry, something I tell my students is that you grow fast by moving slow in this industry. What I mean by that is, when you take your time, stop and breathe, and you’re doing all the right things for yourself, you give your clients exactly what they want. So, take your time to learn the industry, take your time to perfect your craft! Brow map until you run out of brow mapping string. When I started, I knew absolutely nobody here. I’m from Europe and, unlike people I learned with, they had a list of people to practice on. I’d have to get creative and brow map my knee, dummies I would buy from Amazon, just practice, practice, practice, no excuses. Pace yourself, take your time, and most of all, self-care, health, praying, meditation, keeping a good routine, but also finding balance in feeling the benefits and indulging. When you feel amazing, it’s contagious, you make the people around you feel amazing.
