Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bruce Ellis . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bruce , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My Dad. He was one of the hardest working people I’ve known. I mean he worked to live he didn’t live to work, ya know? But his work ethic was unmatched. Seeing it growing up and seeing the man my father was, I think, is what made me how I am. I usually show up at the studio a couple of hours before we open just to look over things and get set up for the day. I’m the first one there and the last to leave.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I own and operate HWY 1 Tattoo Co located at 2546 D Main St, Elgin SC. We specialize in custom tattoo work. We have a collective level 35 years of experience in the industry. We take great pride in helping our clients express themselves in their body art and work closely with them to achieve the best possible result. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience, integrity and self discipline. So skills and knowledge can both be taught. It’s the personal qualities that will take you further in the game. I’m not saying this is for everyone out there, this is just what works for me. You need patience to achieve the knowledge that will make you succeed. You need integrity to stay true to yourself and your clients and you need the self discipline to show up everyday and be the professional that they expect. That’s how it works for me.
