Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bryan Hadley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bryan, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get it from my mom and dad (who passed away in 2017) and from really all of my beautiful family who came before me. They were or are all teachers or artists and also medical industry people who worked hard and taught me NEVER to give up – in the face of adversity or at any other time. They helped teach me to believe in the purity of effort. Effort never loses and this truth makes your art better. I also hold a steadfast belief in a good God who loves us all and that helps a ton.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have a new film being released this month called URBS in HORTO. It’s a very rich drama about the life & times of former 1920s Chicago mob boss Johnny Torrio. It is available to rent or purchase on my streaming platform Fried Talk Films @ FRIEDTALK.com
It is an incredible story put forth by so many great Texas actors.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Faith, effort and kindness. My dad always taught me and said to me, “Be kind and helpful to everyone. Everyone has their story and you also don’t know the shoes people have walked in.” Put forth art for art and not for politics. Politics will eventually fail you but effort in your art will always or will eventually win the day.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My mother, Patricia. She’s always taught me love and class and that the very best things in life are free.
