Meet Bryce Lennon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bryce Lennon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Bryce with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a two-parent household where I was able to see the value of hard work, resilience, and determination. My father, a retired high school teacher, worked multiple jobs throughout the week. As a provider, he made sure we never went without. In the same instance, my mother raised three children, maintained an entire home, and worked a regular 9 to 5 job. If that’s not an achievement, what is? That being said, my parents helped lay the foundation of my work ethic that continues to this day.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My love for blogging came at a time when academia ruled my existence. In graduate school, most of my free time was spent between social media and the library. Platforms like Facebook and Twitter were my main expressive outlets, and I utilized both platforms to showcase my weekly fashion inspiration and personal style. My personal style became more recognized over time.

Once I completed my studies in graduate school, I moved back to New Jersey and focused on my career. The sacrifice? My passion projects were on a brief hiatus. After a couple of years of working, I decided to reevaluate my priorities and focus more on fashion and personal style. Then, it hit me, ‘Bryce, you should create a fashion blog or two!’

Ladies and gentleman, that’s when UnRegisteredStyle.com and BryceLennon.com were created!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Great question! Most of my readers and followers know about my three-tiered formula for success: 1) Positivity; 2) Consistency; 3) Vulnerability. The first, positivity, relates to an optimistic mindset. More specifically, the way our internal thoughts and beliefs manifest desired outcomes. For instance, I’ve always maintained a level of optimism when it comes to my work, with little to no expectations. I set small goals here, but my focus centers around the quality of my content. Remember, true power comes from within. As a result, I’ve been able to achieve high levels of success that way.

Second, I’ve maintained a level of consistency from the very beginning. Whether it’s creating a blog post or posting on social media, my readers and followers have content to engage with on a weekly basis. They pretty much know what to expect, and that’s what keeps them engaged. This routine helps me stay on task as well. Consistency is the key!

Lastly, let’s tackle vulnerability. Believe it or not, there are more advantages to this term than meet the eye. How? Well, vulnerability challenges you to find a solution! All those ‘I don’t know’ or ‘I need help’ thoughts can really change future outcomes. We have to be comfortable with not knowing all the answers and going for it!

For any newcomers, be sure to stay humble, believe in yourself, and be patient. It takes time to become successful.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

At some point or another, we have all experienced a lack of inspiration or writer’s block. You can be the most creative person and still lose inspiration. It’s all part of the game.

For myself, my writer’s block usually hits in the winter. Perhaps, it’s a variant of seasonal depression. Whatever the case may be, I’ve noticed the pattern over time.

Once I’m able to process my writer’s block, I spend time with people that inspire my work, which include my friends and family. Remember, your social circle is very important, and you have to keep people in your life that add value. Over time, you’re bound to pick up some new ideas from the people you care about the most.

In addition, I love trying new things to create inspiration. It’s very easy for us to fall into a creative routine that requires a quick shake up. Dare to be different!
