Meet Bryon Jones Jr.

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bryon Jones Jr.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bryon below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Bryon with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I would like to start off saying, I am a 10 year old young Prince, as my mom would say but I get my work ethic from my mom and my late Mom-Mom Dee. They are the strongest people I know. They work really hard every day and never give up, even when things get tough. I see my mom wake up super early, make breakfast, and then go to work with a big smile. She always tells me to try my best and that it’s okay to mess up sometimes as long as I keep trying.

When I have homework or chores, I think about how my mom handles everything, and it makes me want to do my best too! I know that if she can be a superhero at her job, then I can do my little tasks, like practicing my reading or helping out at home. So, I guess my work ethic comes from watching my mom and mom-mom Dee be strong and always believing in me!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Hi everyone!

Let me tell you a little bit about what I do! I am a 5th grader and I go to school and learn lots of cool things. One of my favorite things to do is write books! I write about my life, and my goal is to help others with their lives through my stories. I think sharing my experiences can make a difference for people who might be going through tough times.

One of the most exciting thing that happened to me is having my very first book signing on September 28, 2024! A book signing is when I get to meet people who read my book, and they can get a copy signed by me. It’s super special because I get to connect with readers and hear their thoughts! I even had another signing that following weekend, and it went really well too! The name of my book is called, Bryon will always remember you Mom-Mom. I also co-wrote a book with my mother, Kiyanna Singletary called, Motherthon. When you all get a chance please check out these books.

Aside from writing, I absolutely love playing football! It’s one of my favorite sports, and I take a lot of pride in being a good teammate. Sportsmanship is really important to me, so I always try to encourage my teammates to do their best and push themselves. I believe that when we work together and support each other, we can achieve great things!

I’m excited to keep writing and sharing my journey, and I can’t wait for everyone to be a part of it!

Thank you for reading about my journey!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three important qualities that helped me in my journey, would be curiosity, perseverance, and kindness.

Being curious means wanting to know more about yourself and what you want to do in the world. It helped me learn new things, ask questions, and not being afraid to discover new possibilities. My advice for others is to always ask “why?” or “how?” when you’re learning. Read books, explore subjects you find interesting, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it!

This means not giving up, even when things get tough. My mother always says, “do your best and never give up”. Sometimes I face challenges, like a hard math problem or a difficult project instead of quitting, I learned to keep trying and practicing. For those just starting out, remember that it’s okay to make mistakes. Keep pushing through, and you’ll improve over time!

Being kind, not only helps others but also makes you feel good inside. It’s important to be nice to your friends and classmates and to help them when they need the help. My advice is to always think about how your words and actions affect others. “A little kindness can go a long way” as my mother says.

In sum, stay curious, never give up, and be kind to others! Those qualities will help you a lot in your journey.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My mom has been the most helpful person in my life! She always encourage me and support all my ideas, even when she doesn’t agree with them. Whenever I’m facing a tough challenge, she helps me see the good and always tells me to believe in myself. It’s like having my own cheerleader! She teaches me important things and always pushes me to try my best. I know that I can talk to her about anything, and she’s always there to help me figure things out. That makes me feel loved and extremely special!
