Meet Buddha Mei

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Buddha Mei a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Buddha, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

Nature and meditation are such powerful sources of inspiration! They ground me and remind me to stay connected to myself and the world around me. Being in nature and meditating opens up space for new ideas and gives me the peace and clarity I need to bring my creative visions to life. They’re like fuel for my soul, and I love that they’re a constant part of my creative process. I also love to step out of my comfort zone, and explore new mediums of art. There are so many forms of expression and by being as open minded as possible anything is possible!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

MEIDULOOK is my creative brand, born from a vision to invite people to look deeper within themselves through the healing arts. The name reflects both a personal and collective journey of self-discovery, encouraging everyone who engages with my work to see beyond the surface and connect with their inner selves. Through MEIDULOOK, I create music, visuals, sound healing, and immersive experiences that offer a pathway for introspection, healing, and alignment.

One of the projects I’m incredibly excited about is my debut album, ALIGNMENT, created with my partner Brown Lotus (Victor Andre). This album is crafted to resonate with the energy centers in the body, with each track embedded with healing frequencies. It’s an immersive journey designed to bring listeners into alignment and deepen their connection with themselves. Every song represents a part of the self and the process of releasing and realigning, offering a unique, transformative experience.

I am so excited to announce, we are creating a handmade brass jewelry body art set that will debut in the new year! This one-of-a-kind piece is the first in a line of jewelry designed to further support the ALIGNMENT album’s energy and intention. After spending the past five to six months handcrafting this piece, it feels like an extension of the body of work we’ve created—a way to carry the album’s healing energy, beyond the music.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities on my journey have been adaptability, self-discipline, and a deep understanding of energy and healing.

Adaptability: As a multimedia artist and sound therapist, being able to adapt across different forms of expression and environments has been essential. Creative projects often take unexpected directions, and being flexible has allowed me to discover new aspects of my artistry. For those starting out, I’d say, embrace the unknown and let your art evolve. Try things outside of your comfort zone, and be open to learning through experiences—even the ones that don’t go as planned.

Self-Discipline: Art and healing both require commitment, and cultivating self-discipline has helped me bring my visions to life, from music production to handcrafted jewelry. When you’re starting out, set achievable goals to build momentum. Make a vision board! Develop daily routines or practices that anchor your creativity and strengthen your focus, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day dedicated to your craft. Consistency over time is incredibly powerful.

Knowledge of Energy and Healing: Understanding how energy flows—within ourselves, through sound, and in the spaces we inhabit—has been at the core of my work. This knowledge has allowed me to create experiences that help people connect with themselves on a deeper level. My advice for anyone interested in healing arts is to explore practices like meditation, sound healing, or breathwork. Deepen your awareness of how energy moves through the body, and let this awareness guide your creative expression.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! I’m particularly interested in collaborating with interior designers, feng shui artists, and other creatives who are passionate about transforming spaces into healing environments. I believe that art, design, and energy flow are interconnected, and working together can bring visions to life in meaningful ways. Whether it’s creating immersive sound experiences in thoughtfully designed spaces or integrating healing elements into interior design, I’m excited about the possibilities.

If you’re an interior designer, feng shui artist, or anyone else looking to merge creativity and healing, I’d love to connect! You can reach out through my website, MEIDULOOK, or follow me on social media to discuss ideas and explore how we can collaborate to create spaces that inspire and heal. Let’s bring our visions to life together!
