Meet Cache Douglas

We were lucky to catch up with Cache Douglas recently and have shared our conversation below.

Cache, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome is sometimes hard. Doubt trickles in and it seems to take control of everything, especially when starting and maintaining a business. I continuously overcome imposter syndrome by remembering my “why” and why I started what I started. My end goal of it all. It includes celebrating those small and big wins. Overcoming imposter syndrome is not a one-time occurrence. Oftentimes it can be a daily occurrence. The continuous support of my family and friends helps me to overcome imposter syndrome. Sometimes all a person needs is a bit of reassurance that they are doing a superb job.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I became a florist in 2020. My love for flowers has expanded tremendously. I love the reactions of people who receive my flowers the most. Flowers can create a smile, fill a room with beautiful colors, and let’s not forget the floral smells! I specialize in weddings, personal engagements, and holidays. I would soon love to embark on providing florals for significant events, openings, and possibly more!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Creativity, confidence, and gratitude. I believe these qualities are impactful in my journey. My advice to folks who are starting out in their journey is that your creativity is your uniqueness. So use it to its full power and capacity. Confidence can come from many different places but most importantly as a creative, it comes from within. Those around you can help and reassure you but you must be proud of yourself first before anyone else. I am always in a state of gratitude. It’s an immense feeling. You must be grateful for the journey and all that comes with it. Grateful for the growth. Grateful for what’s to come but also grateful for what has already occurred.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I don’t have a specific client but I do have specific clientele. I would love to provide flowers for extravagant weddings and birthday parties. I would love to do grand openings for events as well. I want to be able to use exotic flowers while using bold a bright colors. I want to be involved in the over-the-top, drop-dead gorgeous events/parties.
