We were lucky to catch up with Cady Hannah recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cady, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I grew up feeling like confidence was something just out of reach. I was constantly comparing myself, always feeling “not enough,” and basing my self-worth on external factors. It’s interesting to look back now because I can see how much of that struggle was in my own mind. My turning point came after a period of big changes—a breakup, graduating college, and realizing I didn’t like the person I had become. I was tired of feeling inadequate, frustrated with how much I compared myself to others, and knew it was time to make a change.
But building confidence didn’t happen overnight. I first noticed how harshly I was speaking to myself and the constant stream of self-criticism and comparison. Catching those thoughts and starting to reframe them was life-changing. I began to understand that each of us has unique gifts, and someone else’s strengths don’t diminish mine. Learning that mindset was empowering.
Another big piece of my journey was stepping out of my comfort zone, which I had been clinging to without even realizing it. I dreaded being alone and always felt sad when I had to spend time by myself. So, I started small—going for walks, trying out new hobbies, and even doing things like visiting the farmer’s market alone. It might seem minor, but for me back then, learning to enjoy my own company was a huge milestone.
At the heart of this journey to build confidence was self-love and self-acceptance. Embracing my own gifts, and realizing that everyone is here for a unique purpose, helped me build a foundation of confidence that wasn’t dependent on outside approval. I won’t say I never have moments of self-doubt—I’m human, after all—but I’m able to embrace those highs and lows now. Celebrating my growth has been another essential part of developing confidence and self-esteem.
Now, I see confidence not as a destination but as an ongoing practice, one that’s rooted in celebrating the growth and resilience I’ve gained along the way.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Cady, a life coach, content creator, and passionate advocate for personal growth and self-love. Having once struggled with confidence, self-love, and happiness myself, my mission is to help others break free from self-limiting beliefs, embrace their unique potential, and create lives aligned with their dreams. I specialize in helping people shift their mindset, set meaningful goals, and cultivate a life filled with confidence, purpose, and joy.
What excites me most about my work is seeing the transformation in my clients and my community as they begin to realize their true potential. There’s something incredibly powerful about helping someone shift from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling empowered and aligned with their authentic self. Whether through one-on-one coaching, my podcast, or social media content, I’m able to create spaces where people can reflect, grow, and unlock their happiest selves.
A big part of my work is centered on guiding people to stop waiting for the “perfect” moment to start living the life they deserve. I believe that personal growth is a journey, not a destination, and that every step we take, no matter how small, brings us closer to our truest, most fulfilled selves.
One of the things I’m especially excited about right now is the development of my new coaching program, Unlock Your Potential and Design Your Dream Life. This program is built to help individuals build self-confidence, overcome limiting beliefs, and create a work-life balance that supports their highest goals. It’s a deeply transformative experience, and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with a wider audience.
In addition, I’m working on a 11-day meditation package launching in January, which is designed to help people cultivate a positive mindset and tap into their best selves. The meditations focus on releasing limiting beliefs, cultivating self-love, and visualizing their dream life, helping them create more clarity, peace, and alignment in their daily lives.
If there’s one thing I’d love people to know about my brand, it’s that I am deeply committed to helping others create change from the inside out. I believe that true transformation starts with the way we think, feel, and believe about ourselves. My approach is always grounded in authenticity, compassion, and self-love—because when we love and believe in ourselves, everything else falls into place.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work, and I’m always excited to connect with new individuals who are ready to unlock their potential and start living the life they truly desire.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that had the most impact on my journey were developing a growth mindset, stepping out of my comfort zone, and intentionally seeking joy in each moment. Each of these allowed me to navigate challenges, grow, and create a more fulfilled and positive outlook.
Cultivating a Growth Mindset: Adopting a growth mindset has been a game-changer for me. I’m always looking for ways to expand my knowledge—whether that’s reading new books or tackling challenges as opportunities for growth. Instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?” I’ve learned to ask, “How is this happening for me?” This shift has helped me see that growth has no finish line; there’s always room to learn, improve, and evolve. Seeing life as an endless opportunity to grow has made it so much more exciting and rewarding.
Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone: Embracing the quote, “Nothing changes if nothing changes,” transformed how I approached new challenges. Recognizing the need for change, I committed to pushing my boundaries—whether it was posting on social media, launching a podcast, or simply trying something new. These steps were far outside my comfort zone, but my desire for growth was stronger than my fear. I remind myself to stay connected to my “why,” which fuels my motivation and keeps me moving forward.
Finding Joy in Each Moment: I started asking myself regularly, “How can I bring more joy into this moment?” This simple question helped me cultivate happiness and gratitude no matter the situation. I realized that joy is often just one small action away, and this mindset has allowed me to create positivity wherever I am. Actively seeking joy has been transformative, allowing me to bring more fulfillment and lightness into my journey.
Each of these qualities has shaped my journey, and for anyone just starting, I encourage you to embrace growth, step outside your comfort zone, and intentionally bring joy into each day. These practices are small shifts that lead to big, meaningful changes over time.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The most helpful influences in overcoming challenges and developing essential skills have been my parents. From a young age, they both instilled in me the importance of having a growth mindset and seeing challenges as opportunities for growth. My mom, in particular, had a powerful saying that shaped my approach to life: “Every challenge will keep coming into your life until you learn how to deal with it.”
This perspective has been a guiding principle for me. Instead of viewing challenges as setbacks, I’ve learned to embrace them as opportunities to level up. Growing up, I often heard this reminder from my mom, and it stuck with me. It’s shaped how I face difficulties today—I now ask myself, “How can I learn from this?” and “What is this challenge here to teach me?”
Seeing challenges as purposeful, rather than random, has allowed me to face them head-on, knowing they are essential for my growth and success. My parents’ support, encouragement, and wisdom have been invaluable in helping me develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and a deeper sense of purpose. I feel incredibly grateful to have learned these lessons from them, and now I’m able to pass them on to others. As the quote goes, “You were assigned the mountain to show that it can be moved.”
