We were lucky to catch up with Caissa Troutman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Caissa , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

How did I find my purpose as a weight loss and menopause doctor?”**

Because I *was* the patient. My professional pursuits have followed my personal struggles.. I call it my me-search.

I struggled with my weight for years—trying every plan, every quick fix, every “just eat less” tip thrown at me. Nothing stuck. I didn’t lack willpower. I lacked a real solution. It wasn’t until I discovered the power of a comprehensive approach which I call the *4Ms—Meals, Movement, Mind, and Medicine**—that everything began to shift. Not just on the scale, but in my confidence, energy, and joy.

And then perimenopause hit. But instead of calling it what it was, I told myself for years that the anxiety and insomnia was “just stress.” The mood swings, the sleep issues, the brain fog—I chalked it all up to doing too much. But deep down, I knew something was off. I set out to try and “fix me”. When I finally connected the dots and got the right treatment, I felt like *myself* again.

That’s when I knew: this is what I’m meant to do. Help other women stop white-knuckling it through their weight and hormone struggles—and finally feel empowered, supported, and *well*.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m Dr. Caissa Troutman, a Quadruple Board-Certified Physician and the founder of Midlife reMDy/WEIGHT reMDy. I help midlife women take control of their metabolic health and finally feel like themselves again.
I help uncover their 3Hs- their Health Handbrakes in Midlife, specifically their Headspace, Hormones and Habits. Once we have zoned in on it, we create strategies using the 4M Pillars Plan .Meals – practical, healthy eating without deprivation or overwhelm. Movement – building routines that actually work with a busy life. Mind – self-compassion over self-criticism, plus tools for better sleep and stress. Medicine – using FDA-approved options that are both safe and effective

I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to discuss the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause and more importantly the treatment available. FDA-approved hormone therapy (Estrogen, Progesterone, and Testosterone) is available —to relieve night sweats, improve sleep, boost energy, reduce anxiety and irritability, improve focus and memory, and rekindle libido.
As someone who has personally lived with obesity and is navigating perimenopause myself, I bring both professional expertise and deep personal empathy to every woman I work with.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

3 Things that were most impactful.
1. Belief in a Bigger Plan – that i have my life mission and callings.
2. Belief in my ability to walk the Path given to me. – that i will be given all the tools and wisdom I will need to accomplish what is needed
3. recognizing that my i can choose the thoughts that will help me, regardless of my circumstances

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Right now, the main challenge is quieting or addressing the thoughts of Urgency. Time management continues to be a challenge for me as a physician running a micropractice. I wear all the hats! So it continuously feels that all the stuff in the to do list needs to get done and done today. I recognize this as less of time management and more stress management. I am reacting to the stress and the urge to get all things done (when in honesty, it can never be all done by 1 person today).

what i am doing about it is 1)recognizing that they are thoughts of urgency; 2) reframe it by putting it against my Top Goal and seeing if it aligns with my top goals, and 3) learning self-compassion and awareness that i cannot do it all
