Meet Caitlin Elizabeth

We were lucky to catch up with Caitlin Elizabeth recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlin, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I grew up thinking that being good at art is a talent you either have or you don’t. This limiting belief kept me from exploring being creative until I was almost 30 years old. Once I started a personal creative practice I discovered it had incredible therapeutic benefit. I found my purpose through the profound impact art had on my own healing and growth. Experiencing how transformative and restorative the creative process can be, I realized I wanted to share that gift with others. That realization led me to create CaitSpace, a space dedicated to offering both group and individual art sessions. Through CaitSpace, I’ve discovered my purpose is not only facilitating art experiences but also finding sustainable ways to make them accessible—through community partnerships, grants, and donations—so that others can benefit from the same healing and empowerment that art gave me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At CaitSpace, I offer space for individuals and groups to explore creative experiences that are as healing as they are inspiring. What I find most exciting is witnessing the transformation that happens when someone connects with their own creativity—how a blank canvas, a melody, or a movement can become a space for expression, reflection, and joy. Each session nurtures not just artistic skills, but self-discovery and personal growth.

CaitSpace is more than just visual arts—it’s a community. We’ve recently expanded our creative sessions to include performance arts, from comedy to live music, and even host Open Mic events that give participants a platform to share their talents and stories. I also collaborate with local organizations and wellness centers to make these experiences accessible and meaningful for everyone.

Whether through visual art, performance, or community events, my mission is to create spaces where creativity meets healing, connection, and empowerment. Every session attended is a step toward a more expressive, mindful, and inspired life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: creativity, resilience, and a commitment to community. Creativity allowed me to see possibilities and solutions beyond the obvious, whether in art projects or in building CaitSpace itself. Resilience helped me navigate challenges, from funding hurdles to balancing multiple roles, while staying focused on my purpose. And a commitment to community has been essential—connecting with others, learning from them, and collaborating has made CaitSpace sustainable and meaningful.

For those early in their journey, my advice is simple: nurture your creativity, embrace setbacks as opportunities to grow, and invest in relationships that uplift and inspire you. Practice your craft regularly, but also be patient with yourself—progress comes in layers, much like a painting. And never underestimate the power of collaboration: the right partnerships, mentors, and community connections can accelerate your growth in ways you can’t achieve alone.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always excited to connect with community partners who share a passion for creativity and healing. I’m especially interested in collaborating with dance studios, musicians, mental health facilities, and youth programs to expand the ways people can engage with art and performance. If you’re reading this and are interested in partnering or exploring creative collaborations, I’d love to hear from you. You can connect with me through CaitSpace’s website or social media, and together we can create meaningful, transformative experiences for our communities.
