We were lucky to catch up with Caitlin Holt & Valentina Pope recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin Holt & Valentina Pope, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Caitlin –
I had to go through a few transitions to get to where I am with my career today. I actually used to be a professional ballerina, but decided to pursue marketing after a foot injury. My dad inspired me to get into marketing after my injury, and I got my first job at a digital marketing agency. I always knew that I wanted to take on my own clients, so I eventually went on to start my own agency called Hitch.
I never expected to help start another business so soon after my first one, but you never know where life with take you. After meeting my partner, Valentina Pope, we realized that we make the perfect team and can offer our clients more opportunities. Now, we work together at VIP MIAMI, and we have created a marketing and events powerhouse.
I feel so fortunate that I am able to help my fellow business owners grow through marketing and events strategies. I truly feel that this is my purpose in life, and I look forward to being able to help many more clients in the future.
Valentina –
I found my purpose through trying everything, finding out what you don’t like is just as important as finding what you do like. Working multiple jobs throughout college allowed me to experience different career opportunities and gave me exposure to people from various professional backgrounds which opened my eyes to how much value there is in creating your own business.
Through working luxury events, I learned the value of networking: as I like to say “your network is your net worth” which has been my motto in creating VIP MIAMI, where our purpose is to connect like minded individuals so we can learn from one another and grow together. It’s so gratifying to see how just one connection can change someone’s life. Many people that come to our events have met future investors, received job opportunities, and even love interests! I am excited to continue curating events with my friend and business partner Caitlin so we can help the community prosper and inspire others to achieve their dreams.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Caitlin –
I think that the three qualities that have been the most impactful in my career so far are dedication, compassion, and self-reliance.
Throughout my time owning my own business, I have realized that it’s up to you to get started at the end of the day. If you really want to make something happen, come up with a game plan, and just get started! You never know – it may turn out better than you think. Also, you can’t give up on day one. The first solution you come up with may not be the best solution. You have to stay dedicated. Finally, I’ve learned to give others compassion, even if you feel that they might not deserve it. I have found that people remember you for your kindness, and that will eventually come back to you in positive ways.
Valentina –
The three qualities I believe that helped me reach success are Persistence, Confidence, and Gratitude. Never take no for an answer, don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not enough.
If you believe in yourself anything is possible! When good things happen I always try to stay humble, and thankful for the opportunities that I have received, this sense of gratitude allows me to stay positive and reach even greater success. If you are just starting out I would suggest finding a mentor or someone you admire, ask them to grab lunch and take the initiative to understand how they reached their level of success. Networking is your most valuable asset no matter what field you are in, so use the wisdom of your peers to level up!
